I love the rear shade feature (also had it in my previous car) and I actually keep it up all the time. It reduces heat and makes the glass look more tinted from the outside.
It's not a problem at night except that the auto dimming rear view mirror doesn't dim as dark for those bright highbeams.

As for tailgaters, it would be awesome if there was a second shade made of a mirrored material for those pesky drivers!

That is a pretty sweet idea.

Ok, let me revive this with a question. I try to leave mine up all the time, but have found through the week that sometimes I'll get in the morning and it's retracted in the down position. Is this something I'm doing unwillingly, a hidden feature, or do I need to have it taken care of under warranty?

Mine also has a small rattle when it is "up."

Does everyone get this?

I have it on mine but have only used it a couple of times. Don't see a real advantage while driving it actually reduces visability out the rear window. Could definitly have left this option out, give me a heated steering wheel instead.
