Has anybody thought about
removing or color matching the chrome strips down either side of the car? Its crossed my mind more than once. Any suggestions on this?

I'd consider it, cuz that chrome tends to rust or shows lil rust spots after a harsh winter, noticed this in the ML on the chrome

i'd like to see a pic of someone who has done it

its been done..on a black c350 or c300..in one of the other threads..some kid murdered out his C and it looks great.

with black wheels as well.

I'm doin' it. It was the very first thing I thought the very first time I saw a new W204. Look at the C63s. No chrome strip.

Not along the bottom side of the doors though. I wanna get rid of that corny chrome somehow. In the back, on the trunk, too. Anybody thought of using vinyl to cover them up? It would be easier to undo.

No...as Narky pointed out, he is talking about the chrome rub strips at the bottom of the doors, not the window trim.

It comes off like an emblem. Use the fishing line method and clean it up with Goo Gone or Sticker Shock.

hey,
I like the idea, but the weave on the carbon looks a little too big for my taste. I like a more subtle weave. Smaller really. Overall, great idea, I'm sure its an eye catcher in person. Nice initiative.

I actually editied a picture of mine, but didn't have time to post it yesterday. I can't do it from work either.

A member name shaunpaulinc had his removed and I am sure he said they are held on with adhesive tape.

i have thought about this several times. not really a huge fan of the chrome strips very 1993. if you do decide to color match them please let us know how much it cost.
