need tint advice
Hi all, I wan't to have my windows tinted at a relativeley conservative percentage. Specifically Fifty Percent. The only issue I have with various aftermarket window tint applications is that the technicians seem to allways leave the border that contains all the tiny black dots untouched. It is so ugly, the tint seldom covers the entire class. Why is that? Where can I find a shop that wil lnot leave my borders blank and will ensure that the tint looks like it was applied in the factory?

You just have to ask around or call the tint shop's and ask for references and samples of their work. Make sure they stand behind their application of the tint with a lifetime guarantee.
My family has been using this guy in San Diego for close to 10 years now. He and his team do a perfect job every time. Just had mine done last week and it looks great; but I do wish I went lighter on the tint though, the black interior makes the tint look that much darker, but not the installers fault.

You can ask the tint shop to paint the dot matrix black. This will cost more (perhaps $100 or $150) but will eliminate the dot pattern.
I got mine done at suntamers in Laguna Niguel (search google for them), there site has an explination of a few ways to eliminate the dot matrix.

I got the 50% done and it was perfect, can still see in a little, looks clean.
I was told car comes from the factory with 70% (so when you add 50% it's like going to 35%)
How do you like the 20" rims. I'm not sure if I want 18"' or 19" rims, but your car is the first I have seen wiht 20".
I was leaning toward 18" but not sure now.

I got my car in Virginia...if there was any tint when I got the car it was very little like 95%...I put 35% on all around and it doesn't look too dark. Grey interior though....
