Strange squarish plug found on floor??
Brand new C350 (one week old) and I found a small, black squareish hollow plastic plug or cap on the driver's side floor. I guess I should take a picture of it, but does anyone know what this is? What do these door pins look like that I keep hearing about poping off?

Door pins, as used in this forum, are those black knobs that stick up out of the door and that are used to lock/unlock the door manually. Unless, of course, the pull out when you try to unlock.

....while on the subject, that is one of the things which kills me about the car....can those be removed/changed so that they sit flush when locked?

There are other threads on the forum about door pins, but the short answer is "no". Sadly these are cheaply made, break easily, and defy logic with respect to removing and replacing.

sucks...even my Touareg had flush mounted door locks....good to know not to pull on them and tell my passengers about it too.
