Strange squarish plug found on floor??

Brand new C350 (one week old) and I found a small, black squareish hollow plastic plug or cap on the driver's side floor. I guess I should take a picture of it, but does anyone know what this is? What do these door pins look like that I keep hearing about poping off?

Door pins, as used in this forum, are those black knobs that stick up out of the door and that are used to lock/unlock the door manually. Unless, of course, the pull out when you try to unlock.

Cool, thanks, got it....so it's not one of those. I have to run by the dealer, I will have them take a look at it.

....while on the subject, that is one of the things which kills me about the car....can those be removed/changed so that they sit flush when locked?

There are other threads on the forum about door pins, but the short answer is "no". Sadly these are cheaply made, break easily, and defy logic with respect to removing and replacing.

sucks...even my Touareg had flush mounted door locks....good to know not to pull on them and tell my passengers about it too.

Maybe it fits on the end of the seat rail?

....so it turns out to be a pin for the door panel. Not sure how it came off, because it looks like its internal.

Maybe it dropped out of an assemblers pocket or something and it can be considered a bonus spare.

I am wondering if the window tint guys took off body parts to gain better access to the window and thats where it came from.
