2008 Steel Grey C300 Sport 6MT
Just to compare:

C300 6MT ipod spoiler AMG wheels steel gray

zero down 39 months 15k a year $530 a month

Paid $530 (first month payment) and the keys were mine

$400 a month might be a little low....

Don't know about Socal, but here in Jersey those are the most common... vehicles with MM OR MM and P1. You rarely find a P2 vehicle, less with MM...

You might be able to find a dealer with lots of stock, but I doubt you'll be able to reach the $400/month pricepoint without a lot more down (but you might as well just have higher monthly payments in that case)... I'd say your looking at $500/month at the moment.

Sexybeest, you're main issue will be dealing with the state tax and dealer fee's...the national ad is $399 +++ with $4694 due at signing, 27 months, 10k miles per year....if you take your $1000 down payment, then your payment will most likely go up at least $75/mo w/out including your taxes and fee's...again, just giving you an idea.

I think you are a bit too far off, yes. You may need to ditch the P1 to come a bit closer, but even that wouldn't help terribly... Those taxes are a killer... heck, in pricing out my new baby I had forgotten about those pesky taxes (and in NJ, we get hosed on a lovely $1.50 per tire new car tax... thats $7.50 extra (5 wheels you know)... But I'm nitpicking.

If the price is looking more like $450-$475 BEFORE taxes, your probably looking at roughly $500 with taxes... but whats an extra $100 for the car you really want? :-).

Might be too late for this one, just saw this thread when I was cruising through past posts. I talked to a salesman Monday and he claims you can lease a E class for $100 less than a new C because of current discounts on the E classes and none on the C. Yes the E class is an older design and is getting replaced next year, but honestly if I had a choice of a C or an E I'd go with the E class unless you were dead set on having something newer looking.

Very true! Its amazing how much of an incentive they offer for leasing when there are "deals"... Leasing a car without any deal can sometimes be upwards of $800/month, but suddenly a month later they offer a special of $399/month yadda yadda...

Incredible indeed. Go E-class if leasing. I love the E, its sexy as hell, but I'm also a realist and know what I can and can't afford :P. I'm not breaking the bank to have something slightly nicer than a C ;-).

I didn't lease so the extra money an E class price tag carries over a C would be too much for me for a second car (my C being my second car) But if I were leasing I think I would go with an E as well. A little dated on the exterior/interior (but still looks beautiful specially with the sport package) and it has more available options, better ride, and more space. I was just shocked that an E class would be cheaper to lease than a C.
