Key fob sets off electromagnetic security systems
I'm finding that my key fob is setting of electromagnetic security systems.
Every time I walk in or out of stores with those security systems I set it off.
Quite annoying.
Anyone else with this problem?

well, I am a bit dissapointed that the key doesnt always work, unless i am right by the driver door where the black square is and aim at it. If I am on the other side of the car, it rather not respond... I guess since its operated via infrared light, it's understandable.

I have never had the problem of my keyfob setting of alarms but it does slow you down on some airport screeners. Some airport screeners think its a knife inside the fob. I always have to show them that its just a small key.
The summer mode open and close works by infrared, rest will be RF so you should be able to open/lock/open trunk from quite a distance. I find mine works at exactly 70 ft away.

Wow I haven't heard of that problem. That's not good. You're sure its the fob?
I have ran into similar problems imboom was talking about. I had to explain to them what it was and why there was a key in there.
Better safe than sorry I suppose.

Have no issues with the key fob at all.
I always carry it in my back pocket and never set off any security alarms.

thanks for the feedback, fellas.
if it isnt my keys, its gotta be my cell phone (att) but ive had this phone well before the c300 and never set off the security systems.
thats the only thing i can think of that i consistently carry with me.
im sure it isnt a "hidden" magnetic strip on my clothes lol
im sick of looking like a thief
