Thanks for this info everyone. I am just now getting my Service A notification. My dealership, Fletcher Jones, is right down the street from me. My bet is that they charge a premium just because we're in Newport Beach!

Hey, that's good to know about the costs of the dealerships. I just moved here last year for a job and many of the people are a little... different... so I figured the dealership might be like that, too!

Fletcher Jones in Fremont charges $284. They sent out coupons just before Christmas, and I was able to get $100 off service A.

That's rather odd. I know it goes by 6 or 8 cylinders but my A service was around $200. B was about $375. Some really strange pricing at some dealers...

Hey all - if you have another vehicle you will change oil every 5000 km, so 4 changes to one MB. Works out about the same price. If you do it yourself the filter and oil is going to set you back about $60 - $80 anyway. Take it to the dealer and still have the full warranty.

Hmm, I crunched a few numbers loosely...

MB
1 13k change = Oil (24 * 2) + Fleece Filter (16-20) + Time = approx... $64-68 + time...

Other cars

At 7K:
Mobil1 Oil $24.00 for 5 Qts.
Mobil1 or K&N $13.00

$37 * 2 = $74 + Your time

5 K:

$37 * 2.6 (Allot for 13K/5K) = $96.20 + Your time

3 K:

$37 * 4.3 = $159.10 + Your time

This is assuming that other cars only needs 5 Qts, and most need more than that. Considering that most MB's need 7Qts and above that price works pretty good. I still let the dealer do mine.

Out the door it was $119, but I brought my own oil (M1 0w-40)

Isn't it just an oil change? I've got MB Stars next to my work so I'm prolly gonna have my Serv A there for hopefull less than $200.

In Seattle this week, $199 at Phil Smart MB Airport Way.

The only things of value were 8 quarts of M1 5W40 and a fleece filter. Which represents $62.55 of that amount. They charged me $25.83 for the filter which is almost laughable. And eight bucks for washer solvent.

The 2009 C300 Sport overnight loaner car was free. Drove it 22 miles.

I would have changed my own oil, but I had $1200 left on my MBCA/MBUSA Loyalty Rewards card so this work was essentially free.

I just bought an oil filter for my first DIY change - $24. Is there any place who sells the MB branded one for less?

And where are people getting their wiper blades from?

They are not as cheap as they used to be but they can be bought for about $14. The same filters used by the dealers and none are MB branded although the box may be. For that you pay $10 more. I have done a lot of business with this outfit and like their prices and shipping prices.
