That price in Canada would be a "steal"!
Is it a brand new unit, demo or used?

You didn't mention if it was 4matic or rwd, but in any case that would have been a great price for all of us that bought this car when it first came out and barely got discounts. If I were him I would have waited though, in a few weeks 09's will be rolling onto lots and the 08 models left over will be getting even more discounts.

I like these threads cause they give me a reason to look at my dealerships online inventory. At the moment they have 12 2008 C300's in stock and 9 C350's. So at my particular dealership it would have been a much wiser move to wait till the 09's start rolling in, which shouldn't be much longer. If his dealership didn't have that many 08's in stock then he probably did the best he could and as long as hes happy thats all that matters.

Did your brother pay 32.5k out the door or total without tax/fees? Regardless, that's a good price but overall, I think MB consumers are starting to see the noticeable discounts on the '08s because the new '09 models are going to start flooding in and also with fuel prices these days, there's less of a priority for car shopping. Here's a link to an ad that I receive couple days ago from a local dealership with the MB "summer love" discounts. They are offering a red '08 C350 black leather, fully loaded minus pano, I think, for 36.5k plus tax/fees. I bought my C350 black on black last week fully loaded minus 18" amg upgrade for 36k plus tax/fees.

2008 C300 Sport 4matic
My E500 comes off lease on July 20th. I am looking at a 2008 Black C300 Sport 4matic with P2 and multimedia. Consumers Reports buing guide doesn't seem to reflect real world prices. What is a good price on this car in the New York, Long Island area? The local dealer quoted $38,600 cash or $39,688 on a lease.

As long as you are happy with the price, then it was a good deal. Prices are funny from the left coast to the right coast. I have heard people paying MSRP to 4K under edmunds invoice. So as long as you have a smile everytime you drive the car. I would say, you got a great deal.

Hope you laughed at them and walked out, that price is almost insulting! That cars M.S.R.P. is $41,415 and many of us got $2k off of them when they first came out. With 09's in production I wouldn't settle for anything less than $5k off of an 08 model. Let it sit on their lot and when the 09's come in they will be more willing to move it. Another word of advice...might be a better choice to get an 09...these 08's are starting to show problems that might be addressed in the 09 model.
