Has anyone taken the dash/stereo apart yet? For iPod install.
I was wondering if anyone has taken the dash apart yet like the stereo and whatnot? I'd love to do this, to install an iPod kit myself, but I have still been unable to find any instructions for this newish car.
Do you think they'll be some someday? I'm really anxious! ha-ha.
use a skinny flat tip screw driver and ply out the ac vents from the sides
If you have a non MM package car then be careful cause it is glued on in the middle
then there will be 2 plugs take them off
then 2 torx 25 screws take them off
2 clips that slides out behind the screws
gently pull out the head unit and remove all the wires

For me, the price of the ipod kit if I did it myself isn't so bad. However, I appreciate your caution!
What do you do for controlling it though by the way? You leave the ipod itself outside the box? I hate seeing mess in my car.got_thang? - many many thanks!!! great instructions!!!
About the glue, just carefully pull and the glue will let it come out? It isn't necessary, when putting it back together?
THanks
in the Lexus IS250 the AUX and 12V is inside the centre console, that would make more sense in my opinion!

I really want to do this, but the kit is $430 and the dealer is telling me it's 1 1/2 hours to install.
Still on the fence...

Yeah, the cheapest delaer I found wants $650 installed, one wanted $750.
That is why I've found some places where I could get it for like $350 just the kit, if I could do it myself. Hopefully I'll get enough info and do it someday.
I also have to drive a ways to the dealer, so saving $300 plus miles and time, is what I'm looking to do.
