Yes, my parents' base base base 1996 C220 has no dummy buttons.

I don't like dummy buttons either, but it's not just Mercedes - Audi does it too (just to name one).

Here's an A8 with dummy buttons (on the left):

Yes to eject an obnoxious passenger... that's why the button is on right hand side.

Its now available for 2009 models and most likely can be retrofitted for 2008. The mbusa site has been updated for 2009.

I cannot find it on the BYO, or options and packages pages, is it perhaps listed somewhere else? It would be quite nice if parktronic was coming to the US for 2009.

I am with you that it looked a lot better back in the days. but as you can see in the above pick it would look weird in a modern car to not have the
dummy buttons and metal, wood etc. instead. that is due to the new designs
of the dashboards and buttons. these days the buttons are enclosed on
one shape and it would look weird if there would be wood instead of plastic!!

Than you got the button for the sunroof

Than we have the Parctronic button, to deactivate it.
So this one is US-less in the US.

And the right button is not named anywhere in the brochure...

If we order the Standard model here in the Netherlands, you don't have the buttons. Like CJH's car.

@ CJH : Cheap ***
Piffle. The sunroof button is on the ceiling.
