What if the eyelids were angel eyes strips?

Can you guys imagine if the OEM eyelids were not frosted and using halogen but angel eyes tubes? Or perhaps dotted like the bottom part of the Audi R8 headlights? or kinda like those Aston Martin ones? I think its a matter of time before we see these kinda mods. I'm eagerly anticipating them

Food for thought!

i've thought about this exactly...somebody needs to do it. but how long did it take that guy at e46fanatics to come up with retrofit angel eye kits? it was a long *** time. like years.

someone do it now!

We gotta get this mod done! Can't let all the e46 d00dz get all the cool lights and stuff. Anyone got a spare headlamp assembly to donate? I shall do the deed if if i can get a spare left or right headlamp. Usually its the wedge lights into those two 'ports'. I think putting in the strip would mean you need a different shaped plastic backing to the headlamp. I'll go and peek around the hood tmr again. :P

The angel eyes have been done many times on Acura TLs.

Found those pics on Acurazine.com. From what I read, most people were getting the angel eyes from umnitza.com. I checked their site and they didn't have any kits for the W204, but who knows, maybe some creative person can get them to work. http://www.umnitza.com/index.php?cPath=114

thats exactly how its set up...2 wedge bulbs per side in two ports. its gonna probably take a new headlamp entirely because the reflector/diffuser crap is not going to come out of there.
then its a matter of getting an led strip with some resistors that draws off the 5w plug?

it would be really easy to do a CCFL light tube. Well, not really easy but relatively easy. All you would need is a CCFL light tube in the desireable size and an inverter. The light would be even and very bright white, just as good as any white LED.

Here is what I was thinking - I stole the pic from somewhere so ignore the A and B labels.

3 light tubes in a staggered angle. I don't have a new C so I don't know how possible this is, but I think it would look ok.

No these wouldn't be the off-the shelf type neon lights. These are CCFL's that are 3mm in diameter, and come in all different lengths.

those tubes won't matter until theres a way to get that reflector/diffuser out of the headlamp. otherwise itll just be a mass of light.

also i think an led strip is superior to the neon tubes.

I praise that idea...loudly.

And I agree. I would never put angel eyes on a Benz...total ripoff to BMW. Those TLs look nice though, IMO.

Either way you're going to have to get into the headlamp. Shouldn't be hard though just stick the headlamp in the oven and soften up the adhesive on the front of the housing.

Yep, time to bake open the lense.. I think this is a pretty worthwhile mod tho. And yes we're not talking about angel eyes. Leave those with the bimmer crowd... But YES the CCFL is what I'm talking about. Might have to redesign the eyelid reflectors/housing. All in all its not that bad of a job, but it'll cost some time and effort to do for sure.

I think it'd be hell of a lot more flashy than JUST LED bulbs in the old housing.

Before I took delivery of my car, I was thinking about and researching an angel eye conversion. I even found kits online to do it, but decided against it once I got the car. I still like the idea, but the kit that I saw just didn't look very... nice.

In any case, the LED strip is a great idea too. However, I dunno about 3 strips. How about just one single strip across the top of the eyelid area? Anyone wanna do a photoshop on a nightshot?

Anyone care to just post a stock night shot? This ones gonna be a bit hard. I'll give it a shot tho... I'll try to do a staggered 3 and a single ccfl arrangement. If noone has a night shot i'll go and photograph my car soon and do it.

CCFL on the fog lights. Now that would be a cool conversion too... two looks sick. but maybe even just doubles would be neat.

Probably need one that doesnt have the parking wedge lights on.. so I can photoshop it in =p Easiest way is just to pull out the wedges first and take a pic... but have the xenon lowbeam on too.

Hmf. I'm not sure if this is the look.
Here's a very crude and poor Photoshop.
