Help from H&R Sport owners

So I ordered my springs, and got them yesterday. I opened the box to find the part number 29076 in the box. The part number on the website is 52794....

I call H&R and they say that the part number I got in my box is correct despite the discrepancy. Also, I thought these springs were supposed to be progessive (dead coil on the bottom, and regular on top) ... Notice the photo. H&R Sport progressive kit, and the Eibach Pro-kit linear kit.

My springs look like the eibach kit with no dead coils. My question is, what do you guys have? Any pictures of your kits in the box before you got them put on? Similar experiences? Thanks.

Hi Derspeed, have you installed you springs already? Please post photos.
Am expecting my Pro-Kit next week and anxious to see how much of a drop you get with the Eibachs.

TIA!

I've now seen and pulled out a tape measure on a w204 with eibach and one with H&R sport and compared with mine with stock. Granted I don't know if either springs have settled fully yet, but the eiback only was maybe a quarter inch lower than my stock while the H&R was a bit over an inch lower over my stock.

Benggolf, I haven't done it yet. I may wait until Bilstein struts are available. I have Bils and H&Rs on our Passat, and I really like how it handles with those shocks. The OE units on the PAssat were not capable of handling sport springs. There a few people that have installed Eibachs.

Here's one:

BTW, nbturbos, your lable says those are the fronts. You sure about that? Are those for the W204? One more thing. With a progressive spring, one part of the spring does most of the work until they are pushed hard. Then the firmer part of the spring compresses as well. The dead coils, if any, will do nothing. Some people even cut dead coils out. I wouldn't

AZN: did you measure from fender lip to centercap, or fender lip to ground. Fender lip to centercap is the correct way to do it on level ground. In my experience, H&Rs settle more than Eibachs. I don't want to lower my car more than 1/2" to 3/4", so I got Eibachs. Too low on OE wheels doesn't look right to me. I am also going to install spacers on the rear wheels.

Thanks for the link Derspeed. The drop is quite subtle, but just right. Doesn't appear slammed.

Okay.

Benggolf: No problem. I agree, his drop looks just right in my opinion.

Der, I only used that pic for reference of a side by side of progressive and not. That picture isn't mine.

That's good. Otherwise, you are owed a refund. Do your springs resemble mine?

Nope, no dead coils on them. I'm still debating whether to put them on or not. I need to call H&R again today and speak to someone else. I have a feeling the person I spoke to last time coudn't tell thier *** from a hole in the wall.

Call the tirerack and ask them. I bought my springs from them, because I trust them and I knew there would be no issues if I need to make a return.

I called a tech directly at H&R and he ensured me that these are progressive and I do have the right part numbers...so I'll put them on this weekend.

Everything should be cool then. I have called them a few times in the past with similar questions. I had to call last week to find out where to get H&R wheel spacers for this car.
