I read this from a dealer and just wanted to confirm. I heard that the leather upgrade is only applied to the doors and seat inserts only. Cant find any info on MBUSA.com to confirm this... this would be great because your bolsters wont wear out from getting in and out of the car everyday...

I have the leather upgrade and the bolsters look and feel like leather to me. Then again I have never seen the MB-Tex (or if I did I didn't know it).

This is the best picture I have right now...But my OEM 1980 w123 has cloth inserts with M-B Tex bolsters and these seats have a smidge over 500,000 Miles...
I Love the M-B Tex,

Yes the leather package in the C class still has MB Tex sides and backs. The leather vs. MB Tex debate is always up for grabs here, do a search of this forum and you will find lots of threads that might help you.

How much dead cow?
I don't know where you get this. The entire seating surfaces in my C300 with Beige leather ARE leather. The sides and front (vertical) may be something else but look and feel exactly like the rest. The backs are likely tex.

You said it exactly right.."the entire seating surface" is leather including the center armrest and door panel inserts the rest is MB Tex (sides of the seats, rear of the seats). There used to be a nice disclaimer on the website, but since the new 2009 redesign I can't find it to give you the exact wording. Do the forum search and check out previous threads, its been gone over back and forth numerous times here. The fact is its pretty hard to tell the difference between the two...on higher end models they use a higher grade leather and is more easily distinguished from the MBTex.

Almost all car makers use vinyl on the backs of the seats, and to a certain extent the sides too, on leather equipped cars simply because it is cheaper, easier to maintain and more durable.

Best way to see the difference is with beige leather: at least on W203's, the shade of the seating surfaces is slightly different from that of the vertical surfaces.
