Cool C300 project.. lots of pics..

posting this up for a good friend...

recently we performed a few mods on this C300.... which consisted of:

1. Rear trunk De-badge
2. Remove chrome trim from doors
3. Smoke rear tail lights
4. Paint grill in gloss-black
5. Paint roof in gloss-black
6. Paint orange bumper reflectors in body color
6. 6K MODAUTO HID low-beams
7. 6K MODAUTO HID Fog-lights
8. Eibach prokit lowering springs

All this was done at Cartel Customs ... in Miami FL

some pictures:

We will very shortly be performing second round of mods consisting of:

1. Swapping Eibach prokit springs in favor of H&R Super Sports (0.7" lower)
2. Speed Innovations ECU tune
3. Sprint Booster
4. K&N Drop in Filters & some heat shielding done under the airbox
5. Custom manifold-back free flowing exhaust

we expect to see about 20WHP, and overall better performance & sound.

stay tuned for round 2 .. hopefully I'll have some decent dyno graphs and videos to show!!

Looks nice. I personally like the mild drop you gave it. I'd REALLY like to see a dyno once you do the ecu and exhaust.

you don't think you'll get more than 20whp gain with the tune and exhaust? can't wait to see the sheets. GOOD LUCK!

yes, dont want to be too optimistic... we are going to do the TUNE first... Dyno, then Dyno with the K&N filters to see if there is an actual difference... than Dyno with the exhaust on the car. As all of you are aware of..the sprint booster is just added for improved/sportier throttle feel.

Looks nice!

Could you post some close up pics of the gloss black front grill? In good light, maybe? I'm still trying to decide whether I should go for matte or gloss black. Everyone's been doing matte, and though they look great from the pics, a member's gloss black grill on his black made me wanna go gloss. I have an Arctic White.

Good looking Benz. Nice work. I like the way you are going about the Dyno tests. I am thinking of getting the K&N filters myself but I've heard from several people that the filters from MB are just as good.
Good luck with the mods and I can't wait for the results.

So you're "modestly" expecting a 20 HP increase from ECU and exhaust? Hmmmm... I could use the extra horses... how about torque? Low-, mid-, high-end? I'd be very interested in numbers after the mods.

Looks great, nice and clean.

Will the front markers show any light through them after you are done or just solid white?

I've never heard of this shop but the roof looks good in the pics. I've done all my work but I'm curious to see the power that chip puts down. Filters too, maybe one day I'll stop by and check out the shop.

Oh and I like your SLK better with the OEM wheels in that 5th pic (if its the same one that's in your sig). Looks sick.

to answer all posts....

we try our best for the light not to go through the white, otherwise it looks weird, but most of the times it does go through...

I personally like how the taillights came out, it gives it a more factory look to the untrained eye and its different from all the Smokes we see out there everyday...

Im as excited as all of you to see what numbers we can get from these simple mods... after we do this, maybe we will play around with some throttle body boring to see what happens..

yeah the SLK in the 5th pic is my car... you know in pics I have to admit it looks better with my old Brabus 18" reps (which i still have) but they grew old on me and I needed a change...thats why i got what I have now... in person it looks bad ***... havnt really gotten a change to shoot it..

Cartel Customs is a fairly "new" body shop coming out with some great ideas and cars all the time.. the fact that they modify the Lange Rovers for South Dade says alot...

Well maybe I'll have em paint my bumper markers, that is if it's not too much. I know just mixing the paint is $$, it'd be sweet if they are doing another mars red and can just shoot em.

Where is the shop?

well speed innovations came up to the bay area and they did a group tune for euro cars and i got mine for a good price.going to ask them if they can tune again for x pipes and full exhaust hoping to get more out of the car..sprint boosters help alot though..just the shifts alone makes a big difference

How's the sprint booster? I know that all it does pretty much is change the sensitivity of the gas pedal, and that extra sensitivity sounds great. But what about the negatives? Do you find that you use more gas because of it? Have you had to change your driving style because of the mod at all, whether for MPG or safety reasons?
