BUT, the parts should cost only about $500 to 600. Why did they charge you so much for the labor??? You can probably do the diffusor yourself in 20 minutes. So it's just the exhaust tips............ i think you got ripped off.

Before you jump the gun.....let me clarify that the prices are in Canadian
dollars and includes shipping and taxes (6% PST and 6% GST).

AMG quad tips were shipped by air from Germany.
OEM Diffuser shipped from Florida.

Labor cost and material is actually $420 (5 hours labor + taxes) and I gave the installer a $40 tip in appreciation for his patience and good work. If you think you can do an equally neat installation in 20 minutes, hey, go ahead and try it.

Important thing is we got the job done.....properly, so price becomes secondary. Remember the price for exclusivity is always higher than expected.

You can do your thing and let us know how much your own quad-tip project will cost. Cheers.

Yxc145, your deduction is wrong. $600 to $700 per your calculation would still be cheap! Check out post #9 on this thread.

In any case , just try to source the parts yourself and see what you come out with.

Here's another quad tip project on a 03 E500

A bit off-topic, but still about quad tips. Here's a photo of our ex-E500 with a rear muffer + quad tips instalation.

This one came with looks and better sounds. Conversion includes the AMG aerokit. Enjoy!

Now, now....don't rib me with the AMG emblem. Wait till you look around; it might be a real E55 afterall.

Truth of the matter is that E55s were no available in Vancouver at that time and I liked the looks so much.

i guess depends on where you get the parts installed. I bet you can get all these done for less than $800 in Taiwan. there are a couple of members on the forum did that exact same thing with carbon fiber diffusor. you can probably ask them to find out.

But just saying... $700 to 900 for just the tip seems a bit too much for me. you should have wait for the remus quad tip exhaust to come out. I bet it will be around that price.

hey yxc145 relax man prices differ all around, i paid about 1 grand (2 shops)and don't even have the set up on any more because the exhaust shops did take the time nor wanted to take the job on. His set up may have cost that or more but you can put a price on good work all the time.
Think like this :
Tips- XXXX dollars
Diffuser- XXXX dollars
Labor- XXXX dollars
The job done right and to your complete satisfaction = Priceless

Thanks Flame3g, that was a great response. Yxc145, your assumption on the cost of the SLK55 AMG quad tips are way off the mark! Go read this thread.

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/257958-found-amg-quad-exhaust-tips-ebay.html

Anyway, best of luck if you decide on doing the quad tips on your car. QED.
Labor in Taiwan is way cheaper than Canada or USA.

Check out this link. Under $500 for OEM AMG tips is totally worth it it.

Expensive but like I said, the results was gratifying.
Hey guys.. don't beat on me. I am just expressing a personal opinion. I never said it doesn't look good. It looks great!!! I just think it's very expensive for just the tips. Even Benggolf thought it's expensive. but as the thread i posted, the smile on his face when seeing the result is priceless. So i am happy for you.

Phranksmbz, thanks for the compliment. Those are SLK55 tips and the car sports a roof spoiler too.

Sorry, no side shots right now.

Yes, the C63 diffuser mounts right on to the sport rear bumper.

Of course, that's why it's called quad tips.
