Custom Grill Work In Development
Ok so you know how the new cl 63 has the cruise control radar on the grill that gives the star that filled out flush look. Well I was thinking y not try to achieve that same look. So my friend who builds custom cars and I r off on a this project. We are going to fill in the 3 holes of the star with foam then shape it then to make it flush. Then add a coat of fiber glass to make it stronger and harder. Then add some coats of black paint to match my already painted grill. I have a black car so it will look super good. This is gonna be one crazy project and will post pics thrugh out the process. What do you guys think? Oh and if you dont know what IM talking about heres a pic of the cl

OEM stock grille with the clear fiber glass star.
to be honest with you, if you are deciding on selling it I really don't see the point as a consumer to buy that grille. unless you have done something different to the overall styling, such as replicating the entire grille to look just like the one on the CL65 AMG you posted where the black fins are perpendicular to the chrome grille, and without the bottom chrome.
and quite frankly there is a company out there that's a few steps ahead

if you are considering a project aimed to sell, I really think there is a huge opening for those who comes out with a carbon fiber Brabus style grille
or something similar to that. because the Brabus $3000MSRP is just too much.

Well it wont be clear. I would paint the fiberglass black. Im still debating if im gonna go through with it.. I was in mbs show room and saw the cl 63 and really liked the grill in person.. It looked super agressive but baller at the same time...

For my vote - I am sorry that MB ever put electronics in there because that radar star looks cheap and cheesy - hopefully you can read between the lines on my vote for your project ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
But - that's my opinion, and you should do what YOU like. Cheers!
