The wheels you have now are equipped with all-season tires. I'm sure the snow in vancouver is not that bad (all-season tires are still capable).

All-Seasons aren't capable of maneuvering around smallers streets and hills. I got stuck last Xmas.

Off topic, how did you get the blue leds for your eyelids? What's the part number? Looks great.

You'll definitely get stuck on hills. I experienced that too in my W203.
Those are actually not as blue as they are in reality. It is sort of cool white.
I replaced them with Polarg M4 bulbs which you can find in ebay.

So it looks like the winter tires of choice based on comfort and value are the Michelin Pilot Alpin's 225/45 R17 on all 4 wheels. Under Mercedes' service department's advice, winter tires should not be staggered. The wider the tire, the less traction there is. It's Vancouver winter...unpredictable. When it does fall, the snow may not be as heavy as that of the Alberta or Toronto.

The only thing left to do is to find 17" rims and the C300 stock rims will do. Any sellers?

If these are for winter tires, why don't you just buy a cheap set of rims locally? I've also been told you should not stagger winter tires.

Yes, you're correct. All 4 wheels should be the same size. I'm trying to find the stock C300 rims for the winter. If I can't find a set, then I'll just opt for a set of non-OEM rims instead.

it will be really tough to find non-staggered OEM rims since only very few models comes with non-staggered.

don't worry too much about putting staggered wheels for winter tires. yes, there is less traction with wider tires, but it's not like night and day.
