Just got my ECU tuned today by Speed Innovation (http://www.speedinnovation.com/). For anyone who's thinking of doing this, let me just give you a quick rundown. Reportedly, gains for a C300 are +18HP and +24TQ. I still need to confirm this on a Dyno, but it's what's advertised. The throttle lag is supposed to be removed as well as the speed governing. Also, there is supposed to be a 15% bump in MPG. First and foremost...the throttle lag is completely gone. Gear shifts are totally smooth and the car feels way more responsive. I'll be running tests to verify the MPG boost, but anticipate this to take several weeks to get a larger sample size. For the low price of $420, I felt this was a very worthwhile mod. The car is 100% more fun to drive now.

did they just flash your ecu or is it actually hardwired so it wont get erased? if so im getting that asap. was your price a discount or is that retail? and did you install it? if so was it farely easy?

I couldn't find the chip for the c300 on their site. Powerchip group, only has a 13hp gain for 91 octane. $690 not worth the money. I had them do my C32 and it gave better throttle response and a slight noticeable gain, and that was 1k for the tune.

They had a Speed Innovation guy come out and do it for us. It was a group buy (I think 15% off normal), but if you call up Sonic MS (http://carlabms.com/store/) you might still be able to get in on the group buy price as it's going on this weekend ending monday. Out of area would have to remove the ECU board and ship it to Speed Innovation. It's a software update and not hardwired, but there's a one year warranty and if the flash gets overwritten, they'll reflash it for free. I think the w204 hasn't been updated on their website, but they have it. Just call.

i have the SI tune on my C32. couldn't be happier. we'll see if I decide to get the 350 tuned.

I mean more hp and more mpg from an ECU flash? If mercedes could get more mpg out of this engine, youd think they would have.

Also firefox's anti malicious page thing through google, is flagging that page as a malicious site... is that happening to anyone else?

That's cause mercedes tunes cars with moronic drivers in mind It's already proven that you can better performance through an ECU tune, be it Speed Innovation, MKB, or Powerchip.

As for the malicious site thing, I did ask the speed innovation guy about that and it had something to do with one of the banner ads they've since removed from the site.

seen dyno for powerchip and already said I need to dyno my car to see the end results of the SI tune to verify gains. Point was that ECU tune can improve performance. Also, SI learned their craft working through powerchip so figure they should be as good or nearly as good as powerchip tune.

i've dynoed my c32 with SI tune. there are plenty of gains.

we also had quite a few C350 on the w203 forum that got the SI tune and couldn't be happier. just ask e1000, or who else...forgot...look it up on w203 forum.
