there is no c180k and c300
c200k is 1.8 and c 280 is 3.0litre
and the avantgarde comes with none amg kits too

I feel lucky to be in US. $90k USD for the C350 is just like Taiwan as well...except they only sell the C280 (C300 in US) because the emission tax for the 3.5 motor would drive the price even higher vs the C280's 2.25 mil NTD = about $70k USD.

yup, the avantgarde bumper's actually the luxury bumper in US with the silver trim around the foglight instead of black.

Yes Frank - you guys should feel lucky - US pricing is very competitive - We make em here and pay more than you do. This, of course, supports our country's export drive. Out of interest - hot off the press yesterday - the South African government has increased sweetners to OEMs that invest in South African Auto production facilities. So your pricing might get even better!!! DB & BMW have spent a mind boggling fortune on their SA plants recently.

every RHD country there is C280

in Asia the number 8 is very lucky and means prosperity.
Also the number 2 means 'easy' or 'readily', at least in Cantonese-speaking regions like Hong Kong.
So 2 and 8 together is a very desireable moniker.

A while back the Alfa Romeo 164 failed in the Hong Kong market simply because loosely translated 164 sounds like 'road to death.'

Try "Speedline" & also there is an official Brabus Dealer in HK.. I think the shop is listed on the Brabus website..

This goes right back to the 280S (W108), 280E twincam (W114) compact, 280SE etc. when they were 2.8 litre engines. As the 240 goes back to the 240D (W114) even though it is a 2.6l petrol & no longer diesel. Mercedes believe there is brand value in these old designations outside the North American market hence C280 and not C300 everywhere outside NA. Classic, Elegance & Avantgarde - though newer in origins have similar brand value outside NA. If you sold something called a C300 Luxury Saloon in Europe, Africa or Australasia people would think you were daft. Call it a C280 Elegance and there is immediate recognition

Yes - the pronunciation of the number 4 is the same as death. Very unlucky - some buildings don't even have a 4th floor!

there is really no system, I guess it's just the choice of the distributor.

Anyhow, only 228hp out of 3,000cc is really shameful, as BMW can squeeze 272hp out of the same capacity (in some markets, USA also detuned to 328i)

Hi S204HONGKONG! I'm from HK too, but now living in Philadelphia. I travel to Asia 3 times a year for work. Is there any thing worth buying in HK for the W204? Parts upgrade and accessories?

BTW, any badge or emblem or sticker for mbhk.org? I would like to buy one!
