Finally! Got My C63 Grille Installed & Car Lowered
If so, how much does it usually cost in addition to installation, and do you have to get it done at the dealer for best results?
then I assume that there is NO WAY in heck that with Eibach's you will still be able to clear parking stops..
Guess it just means you always have to stress and be careful when parking...
Anybody have any comments from experience that say different?

Always stop short and the bumper overhang never even cross over the stops.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
The car came with the 4 dot rear spring shims (19mm), so I brought along the 9mm and 5mm shims, but it was not necessary after all.

Here's another phoyo of the C63 style grille from Madracer.

Hope you guys like it.

I could still drop the back by another 10mm (shim with 2 dots) or 14mm (shim with 1 dot), but elected to have a slight rake instead and used the original 4-dot shim that the factory had installed on the car. There are actually 4 different shim thickness that is available at the dealership (19mm/17mm/9mm/5mm).

so i just tell them to install the springs and keep the stock shims than??
If you are happy with it...that's all that matters...but I never understood why people want to lower the car...and only 1/2"....hardly noticeable for $400 spent

and it improves the ride and handling...
just look at the numbers from the eichbach sites..
check out the results of the pro kit on other cars...

Eibach is known to be the best replacement for OEM springs for people who do not want a drastic drop or too much deterioration in comfort, yet give a noticeable improvement in handling.
Remember, different strokes for different folks. The line that divides the sublime and ridiculous is a very thin line.

Thanks for the support rb23lb.

It looks just right now. One of the first things I thought when I got mine was, it needs to be about 1/2 inch lower. In-person, 1/2 makes a nice subtle difference in appearance. Not everyone wants the dumped on 22s look. When I get my springs done, I am placing 10mm spacers on the rear wheels as well. They will be subtle differences that may make other enthusiasts take a second look. Oh, the springs and spacers do improve handling.
I think I clearly stated...if you like it..that's all that matters.
And derspeed..if you want to pay $575 for 1/2" of difference...then that is your choice. If you say it improves performance and handling..then more power to you. I don't race my benz...so I wouldn't appreciate that difference..but AGAIN...if it makes you happy..then no one can argue with that.
