A new C-Class convertible currently in the works will debut then – one they think will be called the CLR – that will reportedly be priced well below the next CLK convertible, somewhere in the 35,000 Euro range.

The dash doesn't look right. If they make the display one that's always visible, and they insist on hooded dials, then they need to somehow better coordinate the two, especially as they are right next to one another.

I agree, there is a lot going on with the dash. The hooded nav display looks too large, boxy and out of place. The shape of the vents, similar to the next E-class, is also a bit over done.

The outside looks promising, like a mini CL-class.

That looks like the S class styel nav dash. So word is that MB may be changing the names in the line up.

CL to be S class coupe.
CLK to be E class coupe

Who know if its for real.

Looks amazing. I'm liking the low price as well.

CLR happens to be a household cleaner though...removes calcium, lime, and rust. But oh well. Let's just hope they don't bump up the engines and call it the CLR 409.

I like the fixed, hooded display. right how people keep thinking my screen is TOUCH and put their discusting finger prints all over it!

I think they should add the motorized display cover that's on the current C to this car also. A two-tone interior would be great too. The interior of the current C looks so bland; even in the C63. If they break up the dash a bit, with some color, it wouldn't appear to be so boring.

Not liking it... What's MB thinking? "Hmmm. Let's take the clk, put a convertible top on it, and call it a CLR. Oh wait, we already have a clk convertibile... oh wait... " C'mon...

I don't know why Mercedes didn't go forward with their clever idea of the hidden display. I didn't even get the MM package, and I like that I can even hide the small display.

It pains me my next Merc won't have the oh so cool motorized display, since they seem to be getting rid of them.

That Audi-esque screen is fugly - but I bet it is functional so that there is no glare and can be used while outside... whereas our pop up screens wouldn't stand a chance in an open top car.

I agree. I'm a bit worried about some of the designs MB is going into. They are losing some aggression, and at the same time losing some of the classic lines. I think you have to do one or the other, when you do neither, some of the lines of these cars look like your everyday car.

Yeah, it's fine for it to be your everyday car. I guess I meant the countless cars you see going by everyday. I refrained from mentioning automakers as to not insult anyone.

the new CLK interior's looking nice.

cjh. beats me to the CLR joke...LOL

I doubt CLR will happen. It is like when they said we were going to get a W203 convertible based off the C-sportcoupe.

1. there's no market for CLR if it's based on the W204 and not something smaller. why? because the CLK is based off the W204 at the same size except using E-class model lines and design cue.
2. if there is a market it will kill the CLK sale.
