C300 Dyno Chart

Would love to see the dyno chart for the 300. Did a search with no luck. Anyone have a link or a chart? I understand there is about 190 lb/ft at 1500 RPM...very nice, but would love to see the entire curve for HP and Torque.

Unfortunately I think it's going to be hard to find a dyno for the w204 until people start adding some real performance mods.

I have dyno charts officially published by MB for C300 & C350.

Someone can contact me to get it and post it to this forum.

Chart compliments of hmc. C300 on the left and C350 on the right. Would still love to have a chart with hp and lb/ft that is a little clearer.

Nice chart, thanks! The 350 looks like it adds quite a bit of power. Too bad it's not available here.

C300 has 300 Nm torque, and C350 350 Nm. Coinsidence?

Amazing what you can do with variable valve timing...

I have a C300 sport with the 6-spd and drop in KN filters and i put down 207.0 whp and 196.1 wtq. This was done on a dynomite dyno so the whp is lower than that of a dynojet because of the load it puts on the drivetrain recreates a real world environment driving. To the crank it showed 241 bhp with a program conversion. This means the air filters give a proven again of over 10 bhp. Not bad for $100 dollars. I have the dyno sheets if someone would like to see them.

sorry to burst your bubble but the air filters didnt do much of anything on your dyno results, when on the dyno your stationary and the air filters dont create a greater suction of air so the gains of filters are felt when your actually moving...ive also read that the c300/350 airbox/filter is great stock as long as you keep your filters clean. so in reality you were dynoing a stock c300 6-spd, which is exactly what I have thanks for posting it up.

It seems that with only 3 liters of displacement and 2 decent size panel filters, intake resistance would not be a big power losing area.
Here is a fairly old link that has some info and dyno curves for all the W204 engines.

Would have been great to see a before/after filter comparison but I know the runs aren't free...

A plus for C300 owners regarding the airbox, I was told it is the exact same airbox that is on the C350. I suppose that is good for C300 owners to know that it's the same one supplying air to the larger 3.5L engine. Makes me want to get a bigger/better one even more though.

I was just thinking the same thing. I think I was/am registered over there but I can't remember my username or email I used....

Edit: Ok, here they are. Thanks to giovanni821 for providing these to us!

Thumbs up A little lesson in fluid dynamics

I am glad you all find my post useful. I disagree with palladiumw204 comment about how the air filter gives no gain. First of all its all about CFM's of air going through the airbox. Less resistance to airflow meams more volumetric efficiency the engine will have. It doesn't matter if the car was stationary or moving. Whats important is that the KN filters are much less restrictive than the paper air filters hence more power to the wheels. Once i installed the filters it was significantly more responsive and had more higher RPM power. More responsive than when the car had clean paper filters. I stand by my claim and respect your opinion. Thoughts?

I'm not certain either way, but just thinking about the physics of it, being on the dyno or driving shouldn't have a significant impact. It seems to me the engine is creating the same amount of suction either way, however our cars have a ram air intake so there would be less vacuum in the airbox at high speed so more air could move through and if the filters are less restrictive then they should allow more air and therefore more power.

Now if you upgraded the ram air intake then that could be hard to detect on a dyno since it needs speed to reduce the vacuum in the airbox. But I would think doing the less restrictive filters alone should be detectable on a dyno. And should provide an even better gain when the car is on the road at speed.
