Employee Pricing?

I have a family member that works for a MB dealer and wanted to know what kind of special deals can be had on the c300 if any. she told me her dealer would probably screw me on the price even though she's worked there for 8 years, said i should goto fletcher jones in los angeles lol.

would they let them go for invoice or better?

saw one i liked it was Black, w/ mb-tex

ipod kit, burl walnut wood trim, 18" amg rims, automatic tranny. retailed for $36,130

I can't answer your question but if your family member tells you her dealership will screw you, you should believe her. She's had 8 years exposure.

Aren't most, if not all, stealership owned by MBCanada. In the US they are not owned by MBUSA with, I think, 1 exception. Therefore different rules.

There is another thread regarding the GPS install.

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/265014-av-input-interface-dvd-gps.html

Personally, I would prefer to have the nav built in and pre-installed from factory. Alternatively, you can just stick a portable unit on the windshield when needed.

See: aboutmvp.mbusa.com for accurate info.

It's 12.25% off MSRP, but that C300 sounds stripped down.

i'm looking to spend a max of $1200 a month including insurance, not ready to buy for another couple pay checks. c300 w/ multimedia/amg rims - is there any way to get some of the options without getting a whole package? like heated seats and hid's?

You might be able to find a fully loaded (Leather, P2, MM, Pano, 18"AMG, Tele-Aid, Ipod) C300 (or a 2008 C350) with metallic paint, manual (my choice) or automatic and still be well within budget. I have a very good relationship with my local dealership, PM me if you would like more info.

Well, it turns out that starting today MBUSA has a special APR for the C300. 3.9% up to 36 months, or 4.9$ up to 66 months.

You are in luck since a C300 with every single option costs $41593.5 with the employee discount, and with the 66 month financing deal, the monthy is 718.59 with only TT&L down.

employee pricing is now 12%, it used to be 22-24% in the 90's. Nice. But, today I do not think one can GIFT it to a friend. Only single purchases, cannot sell vehicle for 12 months.

best of all, hassle-free with no haggling involved.

ask for Michael Schaedel if you call them. he's one of the most affable "salesman" i've ever dealt with.

12%

Accoring to Car Cost Canada dealer mark-up is 10.5%. Dealer will tell you they have 9% built-in. So 12% in Canada would be 2-3% below invoice depending on who you believe.

How is it that you guys categorize all dealers into this stupid "stealership" category...

There's 12.25% in a car, you guys pay 200% markup at all retail stores and somehow we're the bad guys...

I wonder if in your own professional capacities you give away your goods and/or services for free as you are asking for them to be from the "stealerships"..

At the end of the day, you're not the ones fronting the several hundred thousand dollars per month to keep the doors open. Think about how much business it takes to cover this - you don't make 5k from selling a C-Class or a substantial amount off a $300 service.

If a dealer tries to steal money from you, then fine, categorize it as a stealership, but it seems to me that the majority of you who use this word are just pissed because you don't get everything from a particular business, in this case MB Dealers, at cost. If you walk in and agree upon a fair market price for a product I don't see how you can call that a stealership...Last time I checked no one puts a gun to your head to buy a car, you yourself execute the deal.

Sorry for the rant, but let's all be realistic about how we view the situation.

Just my 2cents

while i much do agree with you (there should be a fixed stated price), this "problem" didn't solely arise from consumers. half the blame here can be attributed to dealerships with unscrupulous sales tactics - being coercive and underhanded in their dealings - thereby forcing consumers to be on the defensive and "savvy."

it's a fact that if a dealer can prey and up sell you to something (anything) - even if it's not what you want or can't afford - they'll do it in a heartbeat without having a second thought. this is why many people dread the idea of going through the rigmarole of buying a car.

lastly, this is a very fervent issue cuz we're talking tens of thousands of dollars here and not 200% mark-ups on some $20 retail item. and with the times being the way they are you can't blame ppl for being vigilant about their savings/spending.

It's principle not price that I'm discussing..

What "unscrupulous tactics" are you referring to?? You make it seem as if your dealer is run by pirates and thugs.

And if someone is too stupid to understand the very elementary dynamics of purchasing a car then I can't feel bad.

A fixed sales price?? WHAT IS MSRP??? A random number pulled out of thin air?? If you know that margin is 12.25% you have to be able to figure how much money is in the car...

Defensive and savvy?? You make me laugh.

And who's selling you what you can't afford or don't want. It's very simple. You can either afford something or not afford it, and you can either want something or not want it. The distinction is very clear to me. If you don't have the capacity to know what you want and also lack the ability to tell someone what you want, then don't be upset when you ask someone "what should I get, or I don't know what I want" and end up following that advice. You are the person confiding in the person on the other side of the desk.

At the end of the day, there are too many safeguards in place for you to get forced into something, don't be silly.

I can say one thing for certain, I certainly haven't let myself be led by the nose to make the second biggest purchase in my life.

And if I know what I can afford, a $2000 reduction in sale price (5% off 40k C) isn't going to cause me to haggle for another 500...let's be serious, most everyone on these forums spends THOUSANDS of dollars on their cars in terms of upgrades and upkeep, yet when it comes to a cap cost reduction of 2k, effectively lowering you payment by approximately 50-60 dollars a month, everyone walks in with there guns drawn as if you really give a damn...

I find it comical at how much of a **** measuring contest it is on these forums with the discussions of what's the cheapest you got your car for...

It's like sheep, you all follow the leader until the next lowest bid comes along.

As I said, be more willing to lower your own businesses income stream as you are asking others to do the same...

And think of all the other crap you buy during the year with that 200% markup that you don't care about @ $20/transaction...

I guarantee it adds up to more than your C Class payment.

You all want to give nothing to get everything...You want the biggest discount on the front end, don't want to pay for service, and ask for every other thing to be thrown in and expect to waited on at every waking moment?

Doesn't seem very fair to me.

I have worked at a MB dealership over 6 years now and I got 10% plus a $4000 (according to current rates) extra bonus when I ordered my S204 a week ago.
