Ipod Adapter question

Is there anyway to have the song name/artist name displayed on the main screen/radio screen in the car when hooked up? When it's on AUX, all that is displayed is the CD/speaker display. The only place that the song title/artist titled shows up is in the center of the instrument cluster.

I don't have the MM package if that matters.

Thanks

no, unfortunately - that's the way it works. The Ipod is not fully integrated. I am sure future MB systems will remedy this; but for now, if you have an IPOD and want to use it effectively, at least what they give you (for a price of course) is usable.

Check out the upcomming media interface:

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/264342-glk-universal-media-interface-umi.html

It will do what you want plus much more.. but be ready to spend $1200 - $1500 on it.

It's already available in Europe for the w204.

Yah. I just ponied up and joined civilization and got an Ipod Touch. I think it is a waste of time to have to look at the speedo and only have up and down through tracks capability. Glad it wasn't an option I wanted specifically......

but at least the IPOD can stay inside the glovebox and you can control it externally via the wheel controls and the speedo screen.

So I jinxed myself. Tonight I went out and brought my Ipod along for the ride. When I plugged it in it automatically started up as usual. The one track that was playing could not be changed by the steering wheel controls. If I pushed "up" or "down" it restarted the track. Anyone have this happen before ??????????????? Thanks in advance.
