one of the police departments are one of my clients so i have alot of the patrol cars detailed. I asked one of them a while back and he said we can pull you over for it, its required by law to have both plates, but then he said if its a nice car without it and it doesnt have a holder. most officers understand and dont waste their time, he said hes more prone to pull over someone if they have the holder and dont have the plate.

thats why i i paid to have mine taken off. cost me $100 to remove plate holder, fill holes and paint. one of the best mods on the car. havent got pulled over for it lately (about a year almost, and even then only a warning). looks way better and cleaner without it. I think it takes away heavily from the lines and design of the front bumper

Oh, yeah--the cops said that there hadn't been any stolen Benzes reported, they just wanted to check me out. I've been questioned while waiting for arrivals at the airport and friends get stopped on their bicycles all the time.

Sorry.
The people who complain about profiling in the US don't realize how good we have it here. Hell, we're free to publicly complain. Does political correctness or a similar idea exist anywhere else in the world? I'm sorry too.

I'm from GA where no front tag is required. I was in MA a couple years back and got pulled over because I didn't have a tag. I actually had to sit there while the guy apparently called in or looked online or something to make sure I wasn't supposed to have a tag. I kinda got the impression that he just wanted to give a "good ol boy" a hard time.
Of course, MA is where I was lucky enough to have someone pull into me while parking and put a couple nice tag screw divets into my rear bumper...maybe it was the cop since I didn't get a ticket...lol

In Cali the dealer had me sign a waiver when I bought the car saying I didn't want them to install the front license holder. I signed it of course, I'm still riding with a dealer plate on the rear, I only just got my plates from the DMV as the dealer wrote my address incorrectly. I bought the car in January.

I have got a ticket for no plates. Actually three but it was in a matter of a week and since I already got one the others will be dismissed. I still ride with dealer plates. Looksssss soooo muchhh better.. Every time i used to get a tint ticket i would just pay the whole thing off and not get it fixed. Not worth the trouble....

I absolutely refuse to put a front plate on my car.

Yes, I am lucky enough to live in a state that does not require a front plate. New México plates are bright yellow with red lettering (hard to miss), but are worn on the rear of the car only. The front of the car looks better, and is a bit more aerodynamic.
