Finally got my C350!

Yay! its an obsidian black, C350 wih P2, MM, 18", and ipod integration. OTD price was a little over $48K.

but this is one sick *** car. lol

i will post pictures later when i have the chance, but its gloomy outside and that doesnt warrant any good ones.

just a few initial thoughts and questions...

1) did anybody notice inside the tire well for the rear tires. its lined with some kind of felt. im interested in this cause i dont think ive seen another car with it, or have encountered one. does anybody else see this as weird? will it be a pain to clean mud off of?

2) how did i ever live with the music register! its almost genius (though it takes pretty long). i dont ever need to keep CDs in my car anymore. wonder why they kept the 6 disc changer...

3) From reading the forum for the past few months, i dont think ive noticed anybody mention that the glove box can be cooled or heated via the air con system, which i thought was pretty cool.

4) i remember you guys talking about the lack of a child lock on the rear doors, but i see them on my 09. they are located in the same place as the other cars, on the doors under the locked mechanism.

5) so far, i cant find a phone that will allow me to download my contacts into the car. i have an iphone which i know cant, but ive been switching the SIM cards out with my families phone. I have tried two samsungs, but my father has a Nokia N95 and my sister has a Blackberry Palm. Someone please tell me these phones can work with the address book.

6) its weird that MBs definition of daytime running lights is different from that of japanese car makers. I thought that turning them on would give me a low output of the highbeam bulbs. but instead, it turns on the regular low beam headlights. very weird.

7) i have that stupid faux speaker on the back doors where wood should be. and i hate it. since some pictures show the wood and others show this faux plastic...is there a part that i can buy? also, do all 09's have this fake plastic *****?

thats all for now! cant wait to drive the car today

Congrats on your new ride, you won't be disappointed. Also, all buyers in the US are getting great deals, while up north, it's a different story.

Any modest mods for your car?

Congrats on the purchase. You're right on with the music register! And IMO the PC card slot is even better; so quick to transfer music.

Yup... even my previous C55 had them... think sound insulation. Pressure washed mine for 3 years and never seemed to damage it.

Yup, its pretty cool... What are CD's? I got 6 DVD's in there now. got VIM/rear camera too.

I call it my personal 'iPod temperature control system' or iTCS for short... yeah its somewhere in the forum... but hey, who cares you found it!

You have to send each address manually from the phone! A pain in the A$$ but it works for most phones... Hey be thankful your phone hooks up to the bluetooth, my wife's doesn't.

well...it was majorly expensive. but MSRP was $46, 3xx. i got it for $500 over invoice.

tax at 8.75 and the dmw fees were over 4K.

so maybe it was expensive, but thats the price you pay when the 09s just came out

Hi all, first time poster, been lurking for quite awhile!

I'm actually really glad you posted this! I had been reading the thread on what people bought their cars for. My mom just picked up an 09 c300 sport fully loaded. It was about 43k with tax and everything, glad to hear your price was in the same range! I was just worried she got a bad price, but realized it is the price for 09 models.

Cheers!
Eric

I paid $700 over invoice for my 09, had the misfortune of buying it just before the credit market meltdown.

It fits quite nicely in the little pocket on the left side of the trunk. You would think they could have had a least one of those fabled German Engineers looking at the glovebox...and not just for the neat little heating/cooling vent adjuster...lol

hey guys, i forgot to ask. while driving it on the second day, i got a message from the tire pressure monitor system.

"Correct Tire Pressure"-- according to the manual, it means 1 or more of the tires is different in pressure than the others. dont know how this could be possible. the car has 51 miles on it, and it came straight off the truck and the next day in my garage. i havent had time to check the tire pressure, but im assuming they overinflated them to prevent spotting?

My C300 had overinflated tires when I got it, just adjust them to MB's specs and reset the TPMS. Every new car I got has had overinflated tires from the factory.
