corner illuminating fog lamps

I have these on my car but I find it hard to tell if there working. I turn the wheel/signal and I can't notice anything happening? Does this need to be enabled or something? Any info will do, only day 2 with my C300 so far.

the car headlight option needs to be in automatic. its not necessary noticable unless you stick you head out the window.

in fact, im not sure if they work while your stopped. maybe you need to be rolling.

when going straight, the fog lights wil be off. when you turn, each side will light up coresponding to the turn. ie. only 1 will light up at a time

i love watching them fade out when they turn off. its a slow fade

You need to have the headlights on, as said. The system will lit that side's foglight everytime you turn the wheel or turn on the turn signal. It will do this regardless of weather you are running or ar a sotp light.

Some poeple have different oppinions about this feature. I presonally think that it looks like you are running with a burnt foglight. I have had people stop me to tell me that I have a burnt light!!

they work when parked also.

headlight switch needs to be on AUTO. using the turn signal will turn on the fogs on the same side. turning the steering wheel will lit the side that you are turning to.

most useless feature ever. don't have P2 so it doesn't concern me anyway.

MB's just too cheap to make the bi-xenon turn like the BMWs or Lexus.

X2.

The foglights are not bright enough to notice, and the A-Pillar blocks a lot of the view that the cornering lamps are shining out to.

If I had a choice, i"d rather have regular working foglamps when set to AUTO.

thanks for the info, just curious because I knew my car had the p2 package. got it for the folddown backseats, not the lights, but always a nice extra.

just a quick note. * i have an e350 but I'm sure its the same...

in my setup menu under "lighting" there is an option to enable or disable "suround lighting"

I disabled them one night because, as mentioned, someone may laugh at my "burnt out foglamp". lol. I enabled them again though because they really do help me see around corners better when making slow tight turns.

Also, even with fog lamps turned on, the "corner" illumination feature still works. It aims the light or part of the light sharply to the left or right.

Anyways, thats how it works on my E

^^ surround lighting has nothing to do with the cornering fog lamps. the name is misleading.

instead, it has to do with having the headlights and interior lights come on when you unlock the car via fob at night.
