Hey guys,

So I just went into my garage to do some cleaning...and I notice a weird screeching sound coming from my c350...around the front end...it came at about 10 second intervals and sounded kind of like nails screeching on a chalk board...the sound lasts for about a second, if that...I was wondering if any of you have experienced this, or if it's normal or what?

 

I'm pretty sure I heard the same thing while cleaning my wheels one day. It was not very load but sounds similar. Do you think it was from close to the front wheels or not certain?

 

yeah actually..i was bending down by the front wheel to hear it...sounded like it was coming from around there..hmmmm

 

This is actually on my list for my 1K-3K checkup...item # 7 actually. I will be sure to post the dealers response.

 

It's refrigerant flow in the AC system and is entirely normal. My '01 C320 made that same noise the entire seven years I owned it. So far, the C3OO has not made the noise.

 

Did you check for missing cats?

 

For my case anyhow, this was happening a full 24 hrs after I shut the car down.

 

Just curious but what is your list consisting of? I should be doing mine maybe next month and curious what other people have to ask about.

Here is the list...hope it doesn't get any longer over the next couple weeks...

1) Perform 1K-3K checkup
2) Pull engine codes (if any) from my check engine light being illuminatated for almost a week and subsequently gone.
3) Check steering rack/front suspension as there is a clunking/grinding feel when backing with the wheels turned.
4) Check transmission as it has gotten quite "clunky" through the shift gates.
5) Check shift boot as I get a squeak from the boot when shifting into 5th gear when cold.
6) Replace rear door pins that have fallen off.
7) Inquire regarding the source/nature of intermittant sound coming from front end while parked and ingnition off.

Anything on your list that I dont have?
