C250CDI Sport W204 + Command
2009 2010 Command
Hi everyone , I did this mod on my 2008 C220 , I have just swapped this for a late 2009 C250 with command, however when I took the head unit out a green Fakra connector is already plugged in , I have the i pod multimedia interface as std, surely MB havent used this connector ? or is it alraedy pre wired for a camera ?
Any help would be appreciated.

interesting.. have you checked to see if yours is prewired for a camera?
On a side note... how do you enable the guide lines on the backup display?? i just installed my camera last night and the guidelines would be cool...

Finally someone brought this up. I found out the exactlly prewired cable as well during my installation for the back up camera. But I dont think it is prewired for the back up camera.

^^ in the fourth picture, you are in the right area. This is hte screen with the video AUX. Notice on the top it says (1/4) meaning you are on page 1 or 4. After you scroll down to IC Asia, you have to push the COMAND knob back (not twist) to get to the next page(s) where you can find backup camera

Ordered all the parts.. now I'm just waiting for it to all ship. I noticed on the ENG menu there is something about Haptic Display and you can choose between "static" and "movable" anyone know what this is for?

If you can get into the engineering menu then right now you can do the backup cam without using our module. the engineering menu was supposed to be read-only and mitsubishi goofed up and left it fully enabled on their version ( alpine also made W204 command radios early on but they do not have the engineering menu option). The difference between our using our module and not is that with the module you get VIM capability on both DVD and aux video and the navi data/address entry is unlocked at any speed.
In the meantime if you dont need the other features then its a pretty cool way to have the camera function on a budget and I'll be happy to sell just the adapter if anyone needs it. The only thing to remember is that MB is disabling the menu going forward and any update past #259 will have it removed so be sure to let the service writer know that you dont want them to run updates... The only issues I can see with this is that there are a number of sirius updates that are due over the next few months that require the entire telematics system be updates (e.g. everything gets updated at once) so you might not have much of a choice if you listen to sirius.

Hello there, I have a 2012 GLK 350, I have the option of putting the car in R and the screen changes to dark since there is no camera installed. I don't want any of the other features, only back up camera, what parts do in need, please let me know, or PM me your info to order online. I'm on a tight budget so id like bottom dollar on the parts..
thanks again..
