Replaced Trunk Handle for a chrome one..!
Thanks to Rick Hunter who sent me the removal instructions for the trunk lid cover. My model came with a matt black one and I figured that a chrome one would finish it off better. So, bought the part from my local MB dealer and got about taking off the internal panels etc. The instructions Rick sent me worked to a T and all in all it took about 40 minutes as I took my time to ensure that I didn't break any of the plastic retaining tabs.
Took some photos but I can't upload them. Think they're too big....

Could you please provide the part number for the chrome boot/trunk handle and the instructions. I don't want to rush the job so any additional tips will be most welcome.

Sorry for my late replies to this thread.
FIrstly, I have the model number, it's on the box it came with but it's in my attic and I need to dig this out. It might take me a day or so if that's ok but as soon as I get it I'll take a photo of the sticker on the box so you can show this to your local dealer. The chrome one costs about 80 euros (I'm in Ireland).
Secondly, I still have the matt black one and you are welcome to it, whoever wants it. I need to see how much the postage is to the US so let me know your zip code and I'll do that. It's not heavy at all. Dunno what price so make me an offer. A few beers would be great!
Lastly, I need to see where I can dig out the instructions. Meantime you might ping the guy who sent them to me, i mention him somewhere.
It takes a while to install...you just need to be patient..
I think it's worth it!
