Low Dust Brake Pads - Anyone Find Any Yet?
From my search, it seemed like everyone was still waiting on vendors to make them for the w204... anybody have any luck finding out when Porterfield or Axxis will come out with some low dust brake pads?

Porterfield should have had one released last month. Talk to Jerry at Formymercedes. He called me up last month when they came out, but I'd already upgraded my brakes by then.

Just got off the phone with a Porterfield Rep. He does not have the W204 pads yet but is going to call Porterfield to look into it as I told him there is a lot of interest in the pads. I hope to hear back from him today or tomorrow and will pass the info along.

Jerry with Porterfield emailed me to let me know it will be Feb. when their pads are out. One thing I didn't relize is that although the rear pads are the same size, the 350 front pads are a lot larger than the 300s. Guess they are going to cost a little more as well.

EBC brake pads
I'm thinking about EBC brake pads ("Red Stuff") after my OEM pads are ready for replacement (especially rear ones). I don't mind that much black dust, but what bothers me is the amount of rotor's wear after only 6K miles. I think that EBC is already making pads for 2008 C class.
I have EBC green stuff on my wife's SAAB 9-5 together with EBC rotors and after she went thru OEM pads in 20K miles EBC is still good after 65K miles. They produce extremely low amount of dust and plus they are made from composite materials so dust is actually light in color and they are very "gentle" on rotors.
EBC Red stuff (recommended for C-class) is semi-metallic but I'm hoping that is going to be equally good.
Any comments?
Regards.

I wonder if the braking power is compromised when making low dust brake pads. While ceramic ones don't produce brake dust, I've also heard that they don't have the same "bite" compared to OEMs.

Just to let you know I'm ready for first DIY oil change. I decided to do it at 6K miles. I will post my first experience with "oil suction" instead of "oil draining" method.
