traction control off, power brakes to 2000rpm, off the brakes and on the throttle.

OR

you could just step on the throttle.

For the 4Matics, I would just put it in S mode and slam on the gas. I love the acceleration from a stand still to max. For the rear wheel drive I would just assume to do a power break to a certain number of rpm's and then let it go with minimal wheel spin?

I went from a RWD (last car) to a 4Matic. I'm used to brake torquing then letting the wheels spin a bit, but its kinda weird on a 4matic, it doesnt work like that at all, I guess thats 4 wheels dedicated power for you... =p Fastest so far is just flooring it from no brake and dyno mode engaged, feels like it shaves off a second or less than S mode.

=\ I was trying to build the revs to 2k once and then I realized I was AWD and that totally tripped me out, and the car like didn't move at all, hill assist maybe came on? oO.

I think with our 4matic rides, just turn off ESP and floor it

I've read on other forums people say to hold the gear shift to the left for a few seconds, it puts it in the optimum acceleration mode. Then it will not shift until red line in each gear, but I'm too scared to try it. ha-ha.

I don't want to hurt the car.

yes holding the gear shifter to the LEFT (-) will put the transmission in its most "optimal" gear. But I think it only works when your car is in motion, and don't worry about breaking it...its designed so you can't really screw it up but expect your car to choke/slow down tho

and keep in mind these type of "tiptronic" transmissions are slightly different.

Correct me if I"m wrong, putting your gear at 4th when you are at a stand still doesn't mean your car will start at 4th, it'll still start on 1st/2nd depending on C/S. All this means is your transmission will go until it hits the 4th gear and it'll stop there...think of the transmission as a "gear limit" rather than an actual gear...at least this is what I observed...

i'm no expert, someone else care to explain/correct me? thanks

Thats if you're already moving....say youre going 45, hold the lever left for a second, and it will downshift into the "optimal" gear for max acceleration. It won't hurt your car. The transmission will always upshift at redline, and it won't let you downshift into a gear that will over-rev the engine if you're already moving. Completely safe.

On dry roads my C300 won't break traction if I floor it in a straight line, so ESP on or off truly doesn't matter. Haven't really tried brake torquing yet. I think just mashing the throttle from 0 is the best way to go

You are exactly correct. I'm surprised how this confuses some people.
