I can't stand wise ***' busting ***** for the fun of it on these posts but I don't know why people are hating on this Bigdawg guy, he seems to make some valid points and he isn't being disrespectful or abusing people. Actually sounds well spoken and intellegent. I personally think you can do what you want to your car, I just think that is really looks tacky and ridiculous to make your car look like a fake version of another car, and that doesn't really bother me either but to badge a C63 it is just wrong. Again aftermarket parts are great it makes you an individual and stand out but to make your car a fake C63 is pathentic. There are plenty of things that you buy to make you car look better than a stock C63, I think you should go in that direction. By the way I think the C63 diffuser looks better than the one I have on my car, if I put that on my car does that make me a poser???......

too lazy to read all the bashing and what not in this thread.

but 6.3 fender badge on OP's read W204 is

surprise the extra 10mm bumper width didn't affect the fitment on the side where it meets the fender tho.

377rwhp is strong btw. my 32 only dyno at 353rwhp before the header and full m113k intake.

You want to come over and take the engine apart and see that it IS an AMG engine. I just put the parts back on that belonged there in the first place. All Chrysler did to the engine was change the stamping on the manifolds from "AMG" to "SRT-6". I'll race any SLK32 or C32 you can find(that's not sucking on a bottle) and you'll see it's no poser.............more like a wolf in sheeps clothing. My 377rwhp dyno was in a nice hot shop and the car is running OEM exhaust from engine to the rear tips.

Ohh; I also threw a new mod on it to appease all the others................now we can all be friends.

LOL...you are talking as if I have no clue what the M112K looks like or how the X-fire is based on the R170. All I'm saying is there's no need to get that aggressive on calling people names because of the stupid badge.

btw, there's no gain in performance by changing the surge tank cover or adding the "builder's" plate. (unless you damaged it or has the surge tank polished inside) returning to "what it looked like" is how you want to call it, but to many others it's a superficial mod and more of a ego booster.

it's like buying a VW GTI and slap on the engine cover from Audi even tho you are not changing anything on the outside to say it's an Audi.

Yeah you're correct it's about as uncool as someone painting a sidemarker light instead of shaving it off the correct way.

I know you are very familiar with the engine because you are the ONLY one here that picked up on the mods. As far as being aggressive I just call it like I see it.

I never claimed all my mods were solely for power gains. I've done lots of little paint mods, interior mods and am building my own custom hood for the car. I guess everybody with the m112k, pullies and SL55 intake is making 377rwhp and running low 12's to high 11's(corrected to sealevel)? Nobody would know I did anything to the car if I didn't throw some superficial mods on there to make them wonder.

How can you compare an AMG engine without all its badging(still says AMG all over the supercharger) being badged to a volkswagon and special olympics car? I only put AMG emblems on the AMG part of the car which is the engine...........I didn't put AMG emblems on the hatch or put 3.2 kompressor on the fenders. I did put that 6.3AMG on the fender for 30 seconds to take a nice pic though.

The vitriol from several in this thread is unbecoming. The chest-thumping MB superiority complex spouted by some is laughable. Give it a rest, would you please? Two years from now they’ll be worth half what we paid.

SuperDavid apparently had his reasons for mucking up an otherwise fine car. No machine of mine would ever receive those types of modifications. Ever. Since I couldn’t think of anything positive or constructive to post in his thread, I said nothing.

As a member of several automotive forums, there’s a different ebb and flow that’s evident depending, of course, on the marque. I’m the same guy on the BMW, Porsche, Crossfire, and GMC pages that I am here. When first posting up at the Crossfire/SRT-6 forum, some there may have thought, “who is the MB guy that’s posting here – and why?” Several have since come to appreciate the knowledge and real world (knuckle busting) experiences I’ve shared, just as I have learned much from them. There is a mutual respect earned in the various areas of expertise between and among the members. Some endeavor to contribute and assist our fellow enthusiasts solely for the betterment of our hobby.

No one would accuse me of being a Pollyanna, but it’s easier and more rewarding all ‘round if before hitting the Submit Reply button, one just takes a moment ensure that his post is well-advised and appropriate.

you said it yourself. you did those mods for show. just like any other people out there that's throwing on the badge here and there.

I made the example because like the X-fire which is running on basically all R170 components the VW and Audi are actually the same company. the 2.0T in the VW GTI is the same that's used in the Audi 2.0T except one is placed side ways. what would you say if someone has the Audi 2.0T engine cover in the GTI and they're telling you "I'm only putting Audi emblems on the Audi part"? it's the same logic. The technician who signed the engine plaque might not even be the one that build your engine btw. that's why I never bothered to add one of those.

for the SLK32 there's less drive train loss vs the C32. pulley (depending on which size pulley you run), ecu and intake it's not that hard to get the same number you're getting with another SRT6 or the SLK32.

I'll just agree to disagree.

Sounds good to me.

As far as my reasoning for putting the plaque on the engine goes though it was all for myself. I couldn't stand seeing that blank spot on the s/c and I happened to score the OEM piece that was intended for that area allbeit most likely not signed by the actual person that built THAT particular motor. At least now it doesn't look like it is missing something on the top of the motor.

i've access to bunch of those plaques lol.

btw, what size pulley you running? I'm only on the 178 evosport one. still considering if i want to combo up with the c3p pulley. could run 3lbs more boost = 25-30 more hp.

Next step, replace the piping C63, sounds greate, I replaced in one C300, only small modification is necessary.information with everybody that want to do the same, without many hours in try and error, here I show you the receipt.
I will send more picture for details (but with better quality)
Sorry guys, if I'm about to be a poser. A C63 in Singapore costs 245,948.48 USD whereas a C200 only costs 104,089.92 USD. I'll have to go with this mod. I really like the look of the C63 front bumper.

So super david, what kind of modification am I suppose to do to the 2 sides?

What I need are this:

- Original C63, p/n:20488551259999 (Comes with the foam right?)
- the bottom grille, p/n:2048850553 2048850653 2048850453
- basic carrier, p/n 2048852865. (What's the basic carrier?)
- What else?

I don't understand this part: The Foams Reinforcement were change left 2048850516 and rt 2048850616. The grille was replace two time, the only grille that fix is the original p/n:2048801083 lower, 2048800983 upper part and Stay for radiator grill 2048850336.

Thanks!

Edit: Oh yes, I forgot to add. You can't really speed in Singapore because the roads are short and speeding is the number-one killer on Singapore roads to date. No one wants to get their license revoked here. So don't have to worry bout the M3 taking over okay?

I love it in Singapore. I miss the chilli crab and the black pepper crab...and the bak kut teh from that little place near Newton Circus.

Ahhhh...those were the days.

Sorry, that's even more off-topic.

Hello,

Here in Puerto Rico the C63 price with tax is more than $90K, with performance package is $99K, I paid for a C350 with P2, CD changer 6, AMG wheels 18" $55K. Your are in similar boat.
OK, The reason to modified the bumper is because is 1/2" more wide, for this reason, you need a proffesional shop to cut and fit. inside of the bumper you will see a black parts that adjust to the car CUT. The only foam that you can reuse (From C350) is the center foam, left and rt has to be replace, the front grille has to change with original C63 (aftermarkets grille do not fit). The others grilles are the bottom bumper grille, The basic carrier is the part in the bottom center of the bumper (inside) all these parts names are from the MB catalog parts (are rare parts names), I spent hours looking for which parts can be reuse or not, here you has the receipt, But need you NEED a excellent Body shop. You spent money and time, but the results are there. If you need additional help contact me, I made many modifications in similar car.
To all thanks for your comments, MY CAR IS DIFFERENT BUT SIMILAR.

You spent money and time, but the results are there. If you need additional help contact me, I made many modifications in similar car.
To all thanks for your comments, MY CAR IS DIFFERENT BUT SIMILAR.
Thanks for the tip. Your car does look great. It's not the fact that the bumper is AMG but I like the look of the front bumper compared to our regular C300/C350 bumper. It has those nice fins on the sides and looks more aggressive.
