8200 Miles and Service Reminder comes up?
Is it normal to have the service reminder coming up at only 8200 miles? it says needs A Service in 15 days?
Or is the reminder on a time schedule as well since I bought my car on 12/20/07? it's just about the first anniversary...

Are you sure it is like that in the Netherlands? In Europe it should be 2 years and miles controlled by FSS, with 229.51 oil the average should be 25 000 km but you can get 30 000 km (as long as it is within 2 years).

But if you bought it a year ago, then your shop was reasonable and cleared the service counter (days) to zero at delivery. Some get the first service based on the car build date (could be from the US import), which may differ from actual delivery significantly.
I don't see why you should not have the car serviced (to keep it within the US rules, the car itself would well manage more than what is has now).

My C was built in June 08 and I will be changing the oil and filter in June 09 even though I didn't take delivery until Sept. I plan on doing this because, once the vehicle is first driven, even if only a few miles, the oil begins to age and develop deposits, acids, etc.
