Anyone Else Feel Like Your Wipers Suck?
Hey,
i know with the amount of snow fall that we have been having here it might be the root cause of it, but for the last few days my wipers really sucks. They have been leaving streaks and just seem like the quality isn't there. Anyone else feel like that or is winter just getting the best of me?

I understand that the frameless wipers are supposed to be better than the traditional framed wipers so is the issue with the C's wipers, the glass or the arms themselves?? It is disappointing especially since there are only two intermittant speeds. I know rain-ex only makes the situation worse but I am still looking for a glass/wiper treatment to help the situation.

I fixed this by just turning the defroster on in the front and turning up the fan as well. If you don't turn up the fan manually the output will be low because of the auto feature. Once the windshield heated up the streaking stopped and the wipers were clean.
Like someone else said in here, wipe down the wipers every time you fill up with gas. Try putting a little wiper fluid from the gas station on a paper towel and run it up and down the wipers. This should get rid of oxidation on the rubber and you'll notice a difference.
Sorry, probably not the answer you're looking for but it's been working for me!

My dealership adds this for free during winter months. I had a similar problem mentioned in this thread and it was the result of having "summer fluid" because I took ownership of my car during summer months. If you took delivery of your car during winter months then there's a good chance the dealership put Winter Fit in during prep for you.

Yep mine chatter and squeal as well. Very annoying. I'm sure they used some cheap-*** compound in this batch of blades in a lame attempt to save 23 cents per car.

+1 for sucking in heavy snow in traffic.
Tried putting the heater on front window defrost, it got so hot in the cabin, had to tilt the sunroof. I really hate that icy rainbow. At least they are better than my old A4's aero blades...

I've been impressed with them at highway speeds in the summer, but this winter they are icing up and leaving lines like crazy. I've gotten in the habit on wiping them with my gloves in the morning before leaving and if it's snowing I pull them up off the glass while I'm at work. Seems to be a lot better but still not 100%...

I think it's pretty normal to see streaks and lines after snowfall / ice conditions.
I've had no significantly complain-able issues with my wipers. I think they work well and are quiet compared to the other cars I've owned. I do wipe the ends with alcohol from time to time though.

Oh, I also don't think our wipers are all that bad. Actually I thought they were quite good. I had a small issue with the rain sensors going nuts - but now it seems fine...

No problem with streaking on mine. I always wipe clean the wiper blades when I wash my car to keep them working well.
My only gripe is that the plastic end cap don't stay on very well.
