Fog Lights and Eyelid Lights

Hi all,
I have not clue about the lights and figured maybe some people could help me out. I want to change my fogs and eyelid lights...How do I choose the right ones? like I don't wanna have the light error message or anything...
and how do I change the eyelid ones and pick the right bulbs too?
Any input would be great thanks!

Group Buy for LED eyelids lights that DON'T trigger a warning signal: https://mbworld.org/forums/group-pur...ml#post3243148

Fogs are H7 for AVANTGARDE and H11 for ELEGANCE line. Fogs need to be a yellow tint though, yellow light reflects less in fog than white light.

Hi, as per my question on the Bi-Xenons, here is another question. This time it concerns the fog and eyelids.

I see quite a few threads about error free stuff. Just need some recommendations and suggestions from the gurus here.

1. The eyelid LED with built in resistor from Japan, what is the color temperature?

2. What is recommended for eyelids and fogs that produces 4300K/5000K/6000K temperature range that does not throw a code?

Many thanks.

1. Which ones? I have a PIAA set for the eyelids with resistor and it does not throw and error code. They are 4500K. PIAA has a 6000K kit but those cost double

2. PolarG M4 as eyelids, or the German LEDs I was selling or the LEDs from PIAA that I am selling. 4500K is OEM color. Xenon filled blue halogens will not throw an error code (same amount of watts) or you could install a HID kit of 55W which also shouldn't give errors.

Thanks ctgilles.

1. The ones by a member in ,Nagoya Japan using his wife's car (C350 in red). Costs somthing like $300 dollars for it and only available thru MB dealer as an option. There was mention of some part nos.

2. Can you please recommend LED for eyelids and foglights with temperature of 6000K? Oh once again, built in resistors for an error free thingy.

I had the LED eyelids in group buy... 46,2 EURO for white plug and play 4 LEDs. Nothing beats that price

The only 6000K LED W5W I can think of are PIAA TERA, but they are not plug and play. More like cut, plug, plug some more and then play But install is straightforward and not hard.

6000K fogs? Only solution is to get an aftermarket 55W HID kit. Some drilling will be required. And make sure fog HID and low beam HID use the same brand of bulbs or you will see a color difference, even in same K value!

Do you have P2 (bi-xenons)? If so, I used PolarG M4 for the eyelids and the color is nearly the same as the headlights. Good match.

I'm still deciding what to do with my fogs. I'd like something that is closer in color to the headlights.

I don't have automatic lighting pack, but I do have Bi-Xenons. Too yellow for my taste and a damn shame that the Halogens (I fitted 100W bulbs ) are activated too for large lights. Even with the DRL on they come on too and make everything yellow

Should've gotten the auto lighting thingie, but the MB options list was not really clear on what it was and it was very expensive so

My fogs are blue Xenon look bulbs. You don't see it when they come on (automatic turn assistance or smth) but I don't care at least they're not yellow anymore

Hello from Japan. Unfortunately, there isn't any info with the LED bulbs other than a part number on the box, so I can't really say with any authority what the color temp would be. With that said, I'd guess them to be about 6000K. As you noted, they are a bit expensive and you can probably get a much better deal, especially if you get in on a group buy as previously mentioned. With that said, I love 'em and think they look great, both alone and with the bi-xenons! My next step is to get some 6000K fogs to match 'em...

Hi whkento. Yes, I am referring about your car and pictures and LED. Did you change your wife's original Bi-Xenon from 4300K to 6000K as well? From your pictures the color looks the same.

A bit off topic, but can anyone help me figure out how to replace the eye lids? I've PM'ed a bunch of people on this forum, and I was having the hardest time pulling out the bulb holder.

To make matters worse, I took my car into the dealer because apparently my anntena is broken, after 3 months of owning the car, so my GPS doesn't know where it is. The last time I was there, one of the service guys said they'd replace my bulbs for me. So I brought it in today, they called me and said: "Are you sure you want to replace these bulbs, the stock ones are better." And I told him the ones I bought are much whiter. Then he said it will be about $140 to get them put in because they need to take the headlights off. How ridiculous is that?? I mean I can get to the passenger side bulbs, just too scared to pull really hard on the wires to get it out, but no way you take of the entire headlight...can't stand these guys.

Reach in behind the headlight housing, there are tiny screwed on caps for the eye lid bulbs. Unscrew, pull wires, replace bulb. Super easy. I also use the Polargs and they look OK to me. And I replaced my HID bulbs to 6000K.

I replaced mine to 6000k too... and was thinking about getting Polargs because the stock are definitely too yellow for me... but, how better are the Polargs? I didn't really want to go through the hassle of putting leds in with resistors. But if the Polargs don't look good enough, I might have to do that, or hope that ctgillies got an extra set!

PolarG's are too green (yellow+blue) imo. I have a great set of PIAA TERAs that I am selling they are very bright. Even brighter than the plug&play LEDs.
And they are relatively easy to install thanks to wire clamps in the box.

Excuse my ignorance but, are these also LEDs? If yes, then compared to what I could find online it is indeed a very good deal! However, if they are even brighter than the other ones, I think they might cause some trouble over here ... they would look awesome on the car though
