My **** gets hot recently

As of recently, after my wife fiddled with the rear heat option/fan controls, my **** is getting heated even with aircon on, so I figured that the rear heat control between front seats does not remember it's coldest setting of 1 degree ?

How can I get this to be de-activated for heat ?

Can't help you on this one but have to admit when I first read the tag line and your forum handle I thought you may have been sitting on an old air cooled "Guzzi"...that will hear up your **** pretty quickly as well.

Are heated seats an option on the C? If so, and you have them, could someone have hit the button by mistake? None of my Mercedes have had heated seats but my wife's Chrysler 300 had them and her Cadillac now has them. I have hit the button by mistake a couple of times and wondered why my butt was getting warm. Actually, after the first time, we figured it out.

Just a thought. Hope this helps.

And I suppose you have verified that the seat heaters are off.

Which has nothing to with any AC function.

I was not refering to the rear seats, but rather the rear part of the aircon unit with it's own control. As far as I know I don"t have heated seats, but will investigate.

I basicly wants to know what I must do for the rear aircon controls to remember it"s coolest settings, and lowest blow ?

I just went out to my garage, flashlight (torch) in hand, to inspect the rear seat area of my car, especially the air conditioning "controls." There are none other than the wheel that turns the air flow on/off, and the gates that direct the air. In other words, this does not appear to have special controls for the rear seat area.

If (a) your car is different, or (b) I missed something, please be so kind as to post a photograph so we can see what you're talking about.

As to the heat coming up from below, since there are no under-seat ducts, I'm thinking your seat heater is stuck on.

There should be a MONO button on your Thermotronic panel, have you tried turning it on to match the front's settings?

jstaneff: He has the 3-zone auto climate control option, which adds HVAC (Thermotronic) settings for the back seat occupants.

My car has two controls possibilities for use by the rear passengers:
1-They can see the temp digitally, I cannot see there.
2-They can adjust the heat/cold with a botton, and the display will change accordingly, then after a minute the change will follow. From 25c down to 1c degrees.
3-They can adjust the rear fans speed.
4-They can stop air from blowing out of the centre console towards them by closing a flap, like those in front with scroll button.

I suspect this setup is causing the heat I feel, and not a seat heater as such.

Before anyone asks, this option isn't available in the US, but is in the ROW (including Canada).

C320 CDI
4 Zone Thermotronic rear fan

Hi, i'm also in South Africa and my 2008 320cdi has the 4-zone thermotronic with separate temp and fan control for the rear seats. It works pretty well although you can't see the rear display from the front. Personally, I would have liked to be able to switch the rear system off completely as I believe it robs some air flow coming from the front vents - I find the front fan tries too hard on a hot day and is noisy - requiring one to manually set the fan speed slower to reduce the noise.
My rear fan bearing suddenly failed the other day with a loud screech that got my nerves going. As there is no way to shut it off that I could find except for shutting down the complete aircon system, I took it to the agents for replacement - luckily still under warranty. I paid my 30% but it still came to a ridiculous price for a silly fan. The car now only has 73k km.
