Talking Compustar FT-MB204-DC remote start controller and adding an antenna range extender

I've had the Compustar FT-MB204-DC controller + Dronemobile DR3100 in my W204 for about 1 year and a half. The paid Dronemobile service never works correctly.

I press start on my phone and receive a confirmation only to get to my car to find out it never started.

Therefore, I've decided to drop the crappy Dronemobile service and just use a remote.

Problem: the W204s factory remote range is extremely short.

Solution: The Compustar FT-MB204-DC controller (below) has 4 pin and 6 pin connectors that allow adding an optional long range antenna module and remotes.

Questions:

  1. Does anyone know what computstar antenna + remote models are compatiple with the Compustar FT-MB204-DC?
  2. Does the Compustar FT-MB204-DC controller support 2-way remote capabilities?
  3. Will I have to use the provided remotes that come with the long range antenna or will the MB remote still work?

I don't know the answer to your questions, but you sound like you know what you're doing.

Could you by any chance post a how to on how to install a remote starter by yourself on a W204?

Every place around me wants literally $1600.

I want to say that compustar does have 2 way remotes that work with this model but you'll want to check on that. I recommend calling Lockdown Security in Markham Ontario as they've helped me out a bunch with my compustar remote starter.

BTW, I called midcity engineering yesterday and they are releasing an update to the Mercedes remote start modules that will support auxillary functions such as heated seat control (finally). Email them at sales@midcityengineering to get on their list for this update.
