I have the C300 4matic with stock 17" Michelin Pilot tires and their traction is bad too. It snowed 4" in NYC yesterday. I was going no more than 20 mph and I could stop at a STOP sign on a road with a very slight decline. The ABS made it worst. I was sliding faster when the ABS kicked in. After my car made it half way across the intersection, I just released the brake since it was no point stopping any more. I was glad it there was no car coming when I crossed. There were 2 other ocassions when someone decides to cut in front of me and I had to brake (not too hard) to keep a safe distance and the ABS had to intervene. Also last week the back of my car slide a little on a snow covered street for no reason. I was on the gas going around 20mph. I am considering a better all season tire with better snow traction or snow tire. Anyone have any suggestions which ones are good?
