L.E.D. Tail lamp replacement bulbs?

Has anyone tried out these L.E.D. replacement tail lamp bulbs

Our cars use 21watt bulbs for side/stop/fog lights, and adjusts the light output (5watt for side light applications)

The four bulbs are used to produce the 5 watts required when driving at night with the light on. When the brake is depressed, the output is increased from 5 to 21watts for the two lower bulbs.

The inner bulbs on the upper sections of the tail lamps acts as rear fog lights, left or right depending on which side you drive on.

I did it on my W203, use them for brake, blinker and reverse (i know, overkill). You will need resistors to get any kind of LED's to work if the electronics in the W204 are similar to the W203.

EDIT: The LED's you have attached aren't very good. At least I didn't have much luck with them.

Thanks for the advise, I will stay clear of them.

Reposting my previous message, I am going to convert my red LED rear lights to yellow LEDs which requires purchasing Euro taillight complete assemblies in Canada where they can be ordered.

This means a trip to Vancouver BC to pick them up after they come in to the dealer and I don't know how soon I can get up there.

After the switchover is completed, I will be selling the red LED units here. Probably for about 1/2 retail. Yes, they are plug & play.

Sorry mate, I have the intelligent Light Pack which includes LED turn signals.

I am talking about the Stop/Brake Lights, which are all 21w single filament bulbs on the W204's.

Actually, they're 7528, each bulb is dual filament. On the bottom lights, one filament is used for running lights, then the second filament lights when you hit your brakes.

Hi e1000

Thanks for the response, The following is from the interactive manual, (European model perhaps)

Qoute

Rear foglamp/side marker lamp: P 21 W

Side marker lamp: W 5 W

Turn signal lamp

(Vehicles with LED turn signal lamps*: the bulb cannot be changed.)

: PY 21 W

Side lamp/brake lamp/tail lamp: P 21 W

Brake lamp/tail lamp: P 21 W

Reversing lamp: P 21 W

Also check out this website where I found out about the tail lamps for the
W204

http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/index.htm?md

Here is a quote from the website:

" Mercedes have gone back to over engineering. It has no less than 8 bulbs in the rear lamps, four in the front parking lights. They have abandoned twin filament bulbs at the rear relying on electronics to make the lamps glow brighter when acting as brake or hi viz fogs."

In the event of a bulb failing, another bulb takes over and a warning appears on the dash until it is fixed.

This happened when I changed my front turn signal light to the chrome effect bulbs, failing to fit one of them properly, my fogs took over the job of the front indicator. Try it out by removing one of your front turn signal connectors.

US version may be different. Call me crazy but I only see 5, maybe 6 sockets for bulbs.

I count the same number of bulbs plus LED turnsignals...
2 brake, 1 reverse and 1 fog?

And then 1 for turnsignal if you don't have LEDs?

The are all single filament afaik.

I found LED lights for the back. They need a 10 Ohm, 25W resistor in parallel. So you will need to part them from the car and solder.
