Hi everyone. Im having problem deciding if I should paint my grill black. My car is Obsidian Black. I just want to know ppl who have the black C's painted the grill black has ever regret doing it? I mean does it look better than stock? I haven't seen one in person. Only pics in this forum.. Sometimes I think its wicked but sometimes I think it kind of make the grill look a bit smaller? I donno.. Can anyone who painted the grill black and who owns a black C give me some advice? Thanks alot!

only question that ever goes across my mind is maybe I should have done it flat black. but otherwise it's aggro treatment for the w204

I would say to paint them flat black first and see. You can always put a few more coats of clear on top right?

Definitly go for it. Heres mine with CF inserts. Unfortunatly someone decided they wanted the CF more than me and ripped two of the pieces off so the originals are back on till I decide what to do.

Did you take the grill off before painting it?

Matte black and leave the chrome alone.

This should be enough to get you started:

Yes I did. Also had it resprayed when I had the front bumper painted after a truck scratched it. Bad week that one.

I'm about to buy the one off of ebay ($190)

Anyone have experience with it? I'd just rather keep my original and use this one.

That's the C63 rep a lot of people have on. Personally, I like the styling of the original grille, but to each their own. If you paint it black, you probably wouldn't have too much difficulty finding someone later to swap their original unpainted for your painted if you decide to switch, but trust me, once you go black, you won't go back

I just got the 2011 c300 and been looking to get the black grill, I saw your post and your grill looks sick, if you don't mind me asking where did you get the CF inserts from? And what type if paint did you use?
Thanks
