when i started watching it, i kept thinking how god awful the background music was and started getting angry. and then i realized that i understood what they were saying! stupid artificial poppy computer produced garbage korean music!
pretty cool seeing that integrated with the oem screen and comand. but i don't really like that gui though... that cartoony ui doesn't really seem to fit with the personality of the car. and i'm sure that system can be easily customized, but i like the simple classiness of the updated COMAND ui. i have a lot of friends who have aftermarket systems or puters in their cars love the simplicity and intuitiveness of the ui of the new COMAND in our cars.
but it would be awesome to have the personalizability and customizability a carputer though...

I thought it was OEM
there used to be no navigation system which Mercedes provided for cars exported to Korea.
and I believe Mercedes Korea chose certain company to have their navigation done. navigation was done by remote and annoying as hell.
as far as I know BMW Korea and Mercedes Korea had same navigation company. right?
just out of curiosity, S class is the only car that has Korean interface? or do other class has them as well?
Thanx for the daum website too
I finally figured out the usage of the one button out of three remaining empty buttons at the bottom of audio.
rear windscreen and parktronics.... I wonder what the rest of them are...

It's an aftermarket unit built in the original screen. Don't like it though... The aspect is all wrong imo and a touchscreen in that place is just hard to use. I like the big knob in the middle

There are many aftermarket shops in Korea that do this. What they do is add a very thin tough panel screen on top of the existing LCD and that connects to a Navigation Module to allow the touch functionality. They do this on pretty much all cars including the new and old Comand systems, BMW, Audi, etc. There is also a RGB interface that is installed to the Comand to get clear video from the Navigation Moduel, which typically also includes DMB (Digital Mobile Broadcasting or simply Digital Satellite TV), Video's, MP3's etc. The touch feature only works with functions that come from the Navigation Unit while the existing Comand functions work from the dial or Comand buttons.
Typical cost to install this in Korea on Comand is about US$1,000, which is a pretty good deal since you get Korean Navigation (Mercedes does not have Korean navigation map yet), DMB for TV, video/mp3 capabilities, and also Vehicle In Motion capabilities.
I have a C63 and have had this done and am quite happy with it. What's even better is that the Navigation module that was installed in my car has an interface for iPod so that I control my iPod via the touch screen, which shows the album pictures, etc. just like the iPod screen.
Hope that helps!

Did anyone noticed that his unit doesnt have the card slot? Also, the radio interface looks like its from the Audio 20 (5" screen).
Maybe they were able to get the command screen on an Audio 20?

touchscreen navigation is the way to go, very easy and intuitive to use especially when driving.
The nav system on the Acura TL is probably the best in the industry. Typing your destination on the screen couldn't be more easier. I've tried the nav system on the BMW and Audi and cycling through the various functions and the alphabet on a knob is really frustrating.
I think the screen on the W204 is positioned too high for a touch screen. Somewhere within easy reach from the shifter is ideal.

TL definately have the top of the line nav. I was debating between 2009 TL and 2009 C-class. The nav system on new TL really wanted me to choose that car. But you can't buy Japanese car after driving German car. the car feels different. Heavie and bolder. So I chose the C-class over TL and I never regret. Especially, the option to buy VIM is plus for the C-Class.
P.S. The music is Korean and I love it.hehe. Specially the singers(Girl generation).

Good catch. The case above in the youtube video is one where they fitted a Comand screen on to the Audio 20 unit - they figured out how to do that so that you don't have to replace your entire audio unit.
Also, the price seems cheaper here than the US. For example, the Video/Audio input interface, which includes RGB input, 3 Audio/Video inputs, rear camera input, and vehicle in motion function, costs about $230. The touch panel is only about $40, and the navigation unit, which includes Korea navigation, mp3, video (divx, avi, etc.), and also USB external hard disc connectivity, costs about $500. I believe to buy the Video/Audio interface alone in the US it's over $350.
If and when Mercedes develops Korea navigation, I wonder what people will opt for in the future...

Hi guys.
Take a close look at 1:00 , when he takes his finger off. The image tilts ! As what I've seens on YouTube , this is the biggest proof of fakes.
End then , by magic , we come to the famous touch-screen menu. Woah !
Your mind ?

He cannot control the Comand unit with the touch screen. He does not even have a Comand unit. He has the stock Audio 20, with the screen added. A touch screen film has been placed over the screen and connected to an aftermarket unit which is also connected to the screen. The screen in the W204 is way too high for a touch screen.

It looks like a great upgrade/mod for people (like me) without MM. However, I wouldn't even consider this if I had the OEM MM.
Too bad no one knows how to do this in the US (and even if they did they would charge a fortune for it).
