Slow to reverse?

So my C300 is slow as molasses when it comes to actually going into reverse once I've shifted gears. I'm not talking 1/2 a second, I'm talking 3-4 seconds.

Does this happen for anyone else?

i think the dealer will fix it for you. I've heard it happen to other people's cars (not C's though)

Just curious, how quick do you shift from reverse to drive? I'm always too paranoid that people will run into me that I always go extra slow when I'm backing up

I'm slow in doing so - usually I go from park -> reverse and it just sits there, then JERKS into reverse...very disenchanting...

my 2009 4matic c300 purchased in september has this nasty reverse lag....i heard many talking of a reprogramming fix yet it seems as if even newer cars have this issue.

purchased another identical 2009 c300 with the same reverse lag last week???? no good

All 7 speed transmissions as off MY09 have a slower engaugement of reverse gear. I beleive there is a remedy being created at present. Ask your dealer but don't expect an immediate fix.

It's not indicitive of a fault with your vehilce, it's series standard for MY09, but it has been noted as not ideal and a fix may be available soon.

I have an 09 and don't notice anything out of the ordinary with this. When parked on an incline, I do using the parking brake.

The only 7G issue I notice is that from a dead cold engine start, the very first 2-3 shift in the box holds the RPMs a little higher before selecting 3 then normal 2-3 shifts. Its very methodic, it seems to be some kind of self test of the gearbox on initial start.

All auto MB's for at least the last 10-15yrs hold the first few shifts a bit longer than normal to help warm up the cats to reduce cold start emissions. It's not a self test.
