For US version, it comes with CD music record to HDD. I found a way to copy mp3 from media card by setting option 7.7.15 in eng menu from ripping to copy. Changing between ripping to copy or copy to ripping will delete all songs in HDD. After changing option, turn off COMAND and turn on will show new icon in music server HDD tab. When playing CD, REC icon does not show anymore.

interesting find...

i wonder if it would now copies the mp3s directly, preserving the bitrate. does it seem to be a direct transfer? (1 GB on the memory copied to 1 GB on the HDD?) this would make it a lot easier to just move files from my computer to the car.

and does this mean that you can no longer rip from CD to HDD? (small tradeoff, imo, since some people like me have our entire music library on computer.)

It maintain same bitrate. 5th picture in second post, folder actual size is 113MB and songs in the folder are 256kbs. Last picture shows it used 0.2GB of HD space. It took about 1 min to copy this folder. And it cant rip CD anymore. Changing back to rip will erase all copied songs.

Press and hold following 3 keys with COMAND on.
All on center COMAND "hang up, 1, #" will bring to eng menu.
Warning dont press update option ( I think it is option 8).

After changing my setting from RIP to COPY and restarting COMMAND I don't see the copy option in the menu. Is there something else I need to do?

Thanks in advance!

Turn off, take out key and wait for 5 to 10 min. After that turn on the COMMAND, you should see copy option if you have PCMCIA card with mp3 inserted to COMMAND.

Didn't work. I may have a different Command version, on my screen the rip/copy option was number 7.7.16, not 7.7.15.

I just ordered this from Amazon: Sandisk 6 in 1 PCMCIA PC Card Adapter - Reads SD, SDHC, XD Type M/H, SM, MMC, MS, MS Pro (SDAD-67, BULK)
should have it by next week... I'll update when I receive it and try it.

You might also note that Amazon has this: NEW Original Mercedes-Benz PCMCIA TO SD PC CARD ADAPTER FOR S300,S350,S500,S600 SLK200,SLK280,SLK350CLS350,CLS500GLK300,GLK350E300 C280 and though it showed it "in stock" when I ordered it, it then said "delivery in 6 to 8 weeks". So I opted for the former!

How to navigate in Eng Menu
Hi
I am able to get into Engg menu using Hangup + 1 + # (also found another set but not of much interest using Hangup + 2 + #).

In some screens which show I am in 1/# page. How to I go to 2, 3... # screens of options?

EDIT: I figured it out, I was turning the control knob to scroll to the options, to move to the next/previous screens I need to use the joystick portion.
