Ok - So I ordered a C300 4-Matic in mid January for pick-up at the European Delivery Center in Stutgart in May. Today I am told that MB is closing the factory for a few weeks and that my car will not be ready!!! The new build date is the day after I am supposed to pick it up. The car is being made in Bremen and the pick up is in Stutgart so I can't get it when I am in Europe on a vacation that I have totally planned around picking up my new car!. You would think they could figure out how to have a car ordered in mid January ready for pick up 4-months later. They will loan me a car to use in Europe, but it is just not going to be the same. I am totally bummed out!

We almost did the Euro Delivery as well and I can say that would of left a sour taste in my mouth for a long time if we planned it all out and then got punked like that.

On the bright side, you still get your discount and now you can beat the hell out of what ever car they give you. We were going to do that Black Forest (?) trip which was supposed to be an experience to remember. I know that is something I was nervous about, taking a new car and wanting to drive like a bat outta hell in it.

The least they can do is loan you a C350 instead!

I think you should be happy; especially if they give you a car equivalent to the one you purchased. You don't have to worry about the break-in period and you don't have to worry about dings and rim scratches on the narrow streets of Europe.

Enjoy and have a good trip!

That sucks but at least they are giving you a car to use. And as others have said you won't have to baby it, find a stretch of the Autobahn that is not speed limited and let it loose or go drive the ring in it.

All owners of MB products have trip interruption that for any reason your MB breaks down and your x amount of miles from home, they will pay for you meals and hotel room. Maybe you should get them to do you up a deal like this seeing how you were promised a certain date and made arrangements for that date, only to be screwed over lol. Wouldn't hurt to ask.

My brother arranged euro delivery for his C63 last summer. Dealer gave him a June date. He flew out to Stuttgart on the date he was told and was given the wrong date, it was for July! They did loan him a C300, but he was so disappointed and angry. The whole purpose for doing euro delivery (no discounts on the C63) was so he could open it up on the Autobahn and Ring.

I'm fairly certain they'll loan you a similar car, and plus you can rack up miles on the loaner.

I can understand being angry about the pick-up! I went with a friend who also ordered a C300 and the factory tour was pretty cool, so hopefully you'll still go on that. Germany has weird labor laws and so you're probably being affected by them... I'd definately suggest trying out the autobahn and see some castles. One suggestion: get an international drivers' license from AAA before you get here. I think you have to have it to drive, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for all the thoughts guys....confirmed today, my car won't be ready. Not much I can do but "whine" to some one in a position of responsibility at MB...dealer has no influence... We are meeting my son who has been in Luxembourg for the semester and have no chance to reschedule as his semester is ending and we will do some touring before he comes home. we have had these plans for 18 months. Oh well, i guess it could be worse...some how...

So it all worked out pretty well. MB called me the day before (less than 24 hours before!) we left to tell us our car would be ready after all. Problem was, we had changed travel plans, drop off location, and had packed for having an E class for a loaner (4 large suitcases, 3 people). I told MB that given the very late notice, I still wanted to use the loaner. So we were able to see our new C class at the delivery center in Sindelfingen and then drive away and put 2750Km on the loaner car in the next two weeks. Meanwhile, our C300 started its trip home. It arrived yesterday with only 20 miles on it, 5 weeks after we saw it in Sindelfingen. All in all it worked out great! And all I can say is that the C300 with the P1, P2, MM, leather, and Pano is awesome. The Command system is really amazing!

Glad to see things all worked out well for you in the end. All in all, driving a nice loaner really does beat flogging your brand new car around Europe. Hope you enjoy putting miles on your "fresh" new C.

I sure hope you are getting a 2010. If not cancel your order and order one. I placed my C350 order in Feburary, with an estimated production date the end of March. Then it got production delayed until the middle of June... if I cancelled my order and reordered it, I could have got a 2010 two weeks later but my dealership waited until AFTER I had picked up my car to tell me that. I was not happy about that one.

Also, when my car got delayed they gave me a CLS 55 to drive... don't settle for the C350.
