I was told on Sep 10th by Kleeman that they would have the headers available in 1-2 months. However, I've decided to go with Carlsson, even though they have no headers available because of this major difference between the companies:
We don’t offer you any warranty on the engine after the rebuild – only on our own products.
I’ll let you know when the K2-kit is confirmed for your model.
Best regards

Concerning the warranty you don´t have to worry if you have the modification carried out here at Carlsson but please note that we give no warranty if you mix products of different tuners. Of course this does not apply to wheels butengine, manifold and exhaust we regard as one unit, so we can´t guarantee the result and the stability as we don´t know what the others do. However, as far as I know this is the same for other tuners.
Looking forward to see you as a new member of the Carlsson family!
Best regards

C300 4MATIC Sport
Hey guys. I am thinking about getting a 2008 C350 Saks Fifth Avenue ED in the United States.
Do these upgrade work well with the C350 or are there better ones for the money? I am trying to get the car up to 300HP and compete with the speed of a G37.

I've talked with TAG Motorsports the headers are about a three month wait out of Europe right now. Trying to decide between the K3 kit on my car + Meisterschaft exhaust or a new motorcycle. I have until around my birthday in May to decide.

Transmission control unit.
I still think the headers for the W204 are a phantom product. Everytime I head about them they are "in development" and a few months away. It's been over a year and a half now. I'm so glad I chose Carlsson instead of waiting for Kleemann.

As in, you place an order, and three months later, they show up. They do exist, and Tag assures me they have installed some. So did ACG in San Diego.

the fact that this thread was posted in 2009 and there still 3 months out after placing an order is very off-putting, i know a lot of C owners have been waiting for headers to be readably available, i guess many manufactures focus more on the amg models than the standard MB

Well according to Tag there is not a lot of call for them in our market so the are not stocked in the US...They are shipped over from Europe as necessary. This isn't that unusual - I've encountered the same issue with many motorcycle parts. The same is true for Brabus parts.
Maybe instead of waiting passively all the people you know should be making more inquiries like I have been - then manufacturers would see the need to maintain US stock and would do so. If folks don't place orders or talk to companies and distributors, the companies have no way of knowing there is interest.
I would say though that on a per-vehicle basis there is probably much more modification done on AMG vehicles than on the base vehicles, as those who purchase AMG vehicles would typically have more disposable income to perform / purchase modifications.

So out of all these tunes, which on is the best..? And which one is the least expensive.
I have a C300 Sport manual trans. and the x-pipe, on the out side mostly tints(windows, stop-lights, sidemarkers), but I would really like to give it some good HP. What should I do.

Q1) I have been told that ECU tuned HP performance gains are mostly based on 93 Octane gas!!! Which means here in CA with 91 max, we won't be getting what we pay for.....*_* any thoughts on this?
Q2) To date, which company offers the most reliable performance upgrade for C300/C350? Or, at least, better warranty program after installation?
Q3) Will the rest of stock C-class MBenz parts (tranmission, brakes, suspension, etc.) cope with HP gain up to, let's just say...330HP?
Me too, seriously question MBenz's market strategy (back then) when they spec. C350 at 6.1 sec (268HP; >13lb/HP)...could have made this product into a much more respectable platform at <5.7 sec (>310HP; <12lb/HP).

Q1) yes 93 octane is better for performance than 91 but it wont play a HUGE factor in difference in power.
Q2) Kleeman, vath, and Renntech are probably your best bet for total performance kits but other companies like: powerchip, OEtuning, eurocharge and some others offer ECU tunes.
Q3)yea the stock suspension, brakes, tranny, engine internals should be fine, but getting up to 330rwhp will be the real task, unless you do a turbo, nitrous, or a vath performance kit, you wont get there.
the new 2012 c350 will be more impressive with the reamped 306hp engine, Im looking forward to see some performance companies come out with some products to maybe keep up with the 335i.

I know, I know, still deciding between Renntech and Kleemann (K1, K2)
I know, I know, still deciding between Renntech and Kleemann (K1, K2)
Q1) If for both reliability and reputation, I go with Renntech ECU tune, what aftermarket Headers would you guys recommend to complete?
Q2) Going by numbers on ECU Tune only:
Renntech 290H/278 lb-ft
VS
Kleemann 295HP/260 lb-ft
- Which would be the "better" buy for your $$$? ('09 C350)
The "funny" thing is, since we are spending hard-earned $$$ on engineered products with advertised BHP numbers, yet I still couldn't find Mfg sharing their ECU tuned Dyno graphs showing the characteristics of their tune? (Dyno graphs tell alot more than just numbers, the same concept as tuning your audio system's Freq Resp. Curve...)
