Hmm....my friend just picked up a new c280 in taiwan and he didn't find the first-aid kit by the spare tire...
Guess it's a standard accessory and he should go back to dealer and request one...

Was not there when I picked up the car...
I called the Dealership and they sent one out by courier
Now it's in the compartment in the trunk

the other side has a little "door" but it's basically to get to
the light bulps & not really for storing stuff.

There seems to be slight differences on the drivers side. I don't know if it is between sport and lux or if the folding seats on P2 plays a part.

It wasn't in the car when I bought the c300, the salesman handed it to me. I placed it at the left side of the trunk.

Mine has the first aid kit (USA) and is P2. I'd like the mesh area, but the P2 will have to do.

I have my first-aid kit and owners manual stored by the spare tire and I use those anti-skid mesh thing to prevent them from sliding around under trunk cover..

If you get the fold-away towing hitch as an option (I don't think that is available on US models, is it?), the control "knob" for that is also accessible through that door.
