new c300 sport 09 - Esp light on out of nowhere

Hello everyone

Yesterday i picked up my new c300 sport 09 and began driving around. I put like 50 miles on it and i went to a field of empty landed and pushed to car to 87 mph. and that was it.

couple hours later? or maybe it happened even before it. I don't exactly remember when the light showed up but im pretty sure it was after the field speed or before it. I really cannot remember as i had a busy day.

Now i an randomly driving around and i notice the ESP Warning light in the instrument cluster is on. That yellow hazard thing is just on doing nothing

So i press esp on the dash in front of me and the esp warning light just goes away?

What is that and i haven't seen from it since? Talk about completely weird

From my observations...the car performs great. So i didn't detect anything wrong except uhm well that warning light just sitting there doing nothing....I didnt even notice how long it was on for

I just saw it and pressed esp and it went away...so it could've been on for 10 secs or 2 mins or etc...no clue

I have accidentally brushed the esp switch, perhaps that is what happened?

did you ever turn the warning lights/signals on?

I've reached to turn them off before and inadvertently pushed the ESP switch by accident

+1

From reading through the manual online, that light *should* only come on to warn you that you have turned ESP off.

Another round of ICE
Our E350 did something similar once.....when new.....SA could only conclude that a wheel momentarily was on a low-traction surface and system activated briefly, faster than we could detect....no recurrences here....

+1, Sounds like an accidentel push of the button. The only time the light will be on steadily is when the system is turned off. If the ESP is doing its job you will see the light flashing as its working.

So dont worry, im sure its fine, and congrats on the new car

I agree with the above posters. The only possible explanation for a solid ESP triangle with no warning messages is you -or someone else- pushed the ESP Off button. There's nothing wrong with your car.. Don't worry about it and enjoy.
