Angry Hail Storm ... oh great! Now what?

A hail storm pulled through yesterday morning dropping golf ball sized hail all over my car. There are dents of various sized on my hood and trunk lid.

Anyone had this happen before? What are my options?

PDR should be your first choice.

Damn, that sucks. I was out yesterday as well, watching the dark clouds and listening to the weather reports, and praying I would avoid it.

Guess I was lucky, I drove through a real heavy downpour but no hail.

PDR is your first choice. Dent Doctor seems to be well regarded, but I have no personal experience with them. I think they have a couple of locations in T.O. and one in Brampton.

I was in the thick of it as well, yesterday, getting flowers at the Home Depot at Dundas and WinstonChurchill, sitting in the car waiting for the better half to finish up her shopping, when it came down in buckets, fortunately, the hail was not as big as it was in Brampton and near the airport, lucky me,,,,,the little ones we had did no damage to the car.......

But what a racket, sitting inside the car, I thought it was going to break all the glass !!!

I was more worried about the glass on the pano roof breaking. It held up well and was probably a good thing 'cos otherwise I would have to fix my roof too.

Saw an MDX with a hood that resembled a golf ball... thankfully it wasn't as bad for me.

I wonder if insurance would cover the repairs... *has mental images of his insurance agent laughing his evil A$$ off*

My wife's car got over 300 dents in last year's hail storm. Our auto insurance (Monnex) took care of it. Unless you are going to file an insurance claim, do not call them. They literally forced me to do the work or lower the value of my car. Alternatively, you can always ask them anonymously.

Something tells me that even if they devalue my car, the insurance rate is going up... that's the State Farm way.

Mine did not go up at all. I just did not get the discount (~$50) for not having a claim-less year.
