Luxury grill on C300/350 Sport? Pics?

I pulled the sport grill off for a little paint touch up as apparently I didn't prep one of the inside corners well enough before painting the louvers flat black.
I installed my spare luxury grill and upright star and I have to admit I really like the more formal look...for a change anyhow. It's funny how having the upright hood ornament makes the car feel about 4 feet longer, a foot wider and a thousand pounds heavier...taking me back to some of my first cars I guess.
Anyhow, my question is for the guys that have painted the louvers on the luxury grills liked MixedFruits car above. Did you pull all the chrome off or just mask everything? I am contemplating going from silver to flat black on the inner louvers but, remembering how much of a PIA it was to remove the chrome on the sport grill, not sure if it's worth the trouble.

Today I dropped my car off at the dealer and got a 2013 C250 Lux as a loaner, so it has the standing star. My previous 2005 C sport had the standing star and until today I did not realize how much I miss that. I've decided to convert my 2011 Sport grille to the luxury version and add the standing star.
Could someone point me to a tutorial on how to change the grille and add the star?

Its pretty easy.
For the grill...
For the emblem...
Took me 10 min to replace my grill. Probably will take less than 5 to swap the badge/emblem.

The first time I did, I removed the plastic cover, but once you get used to it there's no need. Just gotta watch out for the T-shaped plastic attached to the grill, as you can't bolt if off unless the plastic is removed (just gotta learn how to snap it on/off the grill).
But for first timer who's unsure of what they're doing, and afraid they'll break something, it might be wise to take the time to remove the plastic. Just sayin'

This is what Vic Viper's referring to btw. Doesn't show the T-bar, but its attached to the back of the grill (I think its the same for all models, all places).

Just more pics, I can swap grills in about 3 min it's very easy once you learn
This is a 2012 C300 4matic sport with a 2010 C300 4matic lux grill, I just changed them. I'm not a huge fan of standing star. The one pic was right after we had changed the grills. I need to crop the pics for size since I'm doing on the iPhone

I just did this to my new (new to me) 2013 C250 Sport. It still looks sporty but has that classic Benz look. I included a pic with the AMG 5-spoke 18s since I was skeptical it would work with them; thankfully it looks great.

I have a chance to buy a really nice grill from a 2008-2010 c300. Fit no issue with the older grille on a 2012? Is it just the same except the T-Bar wont be attached?
Thanks

I know this reply was a few months ago, but if you still check this thread, was there any issue using the older grille? I am thinking about doing the same thing. I have a 2012 C300 Sport and want to change over to the Lux grille and standing star.

I did a lot of research on this and my conclusion was that all grills (sport and luxury) are interchangeable between any model year W204. The exceptions to this are the coupe and the C63, which is where the t-bar difference thing comes in. I think cars with the "full AMG package" (not sure what the real name is) have a C63 grill, so watch out for that as well.
Thanks,
I found a guy who will sell me his that is practically new for $50.00. Looks like this project is a "go"
